He's also studying Japanese... I had no idea he played against Minamino this january during the Vietnamese tournament!
Also nice that he mentions the Olympics... if we qualify. :ninja:

Next Asian Cup U16 this year, in Thailand.

We have to go to semi-finals if we want to qualify to the U17's WC. In quarter finals, maybe we should avoid SK with his two Barça's boys ? :D

Do Japan have any top 5 European club youth talent like the 2 Barca boys in Korea?

Takefusa Kubo at Barça, Takuhiro Nakai at Real Madrid, and another at Bayern Munchen, I believe.

There is another young player at Tottenham too : Cy Goddard.

Typically it's impossible. The kid's parents would have to pack up, move to Europe with him, and find a job there...otherwise the club gets dinged like Barca just did in Lee Seung Woo's case.

I know, that's why it works. Usually it's not so simple, though.

A simple ignorant question: when Takefusa will play a game that we can actually see? I don't know how many years old is he now and I don't know a thing about incoming U-something international competition where he can exhibit.
    Thanks.

Takefusa is born in June 2001 so he will be 13 years old in 2 months. In January, there was a youth tournament in which Barcelona U16 participated and all the games were shown on TV. My guess is that in 3 years would be the soonest possible time you can watch him.

yes he's japanese. He's 13 years old, so I'm not sure it would be fair to discuss if he's "good or not" until at least 5 years.

He's the next Messi and if he will miss JNT I will cry.

Whatever, I hope he will not lose his japanese identity.

Both Nakai and Kubo have an option to play for Spain right since they went to Spain quite early.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but wasn't there a Japanese youth in Athletico Madrid?

Yoshitake-sama starts to build the new U16's NT. As usual he will try lots of young players. Japan currently plays a tournament in Italy.
Matches in group stage vs Croatia (loss 0-1), Chile then Azerbaidjan.

Ryoya Ito from Bayern Munchen is in the group (I spoke about him few posts above).
