I saw a T-Rex on the field at half time last week. He fits the age group of many of Bruce's other signings.

They said he was there to advertise the Natural History Museum, but that all sounds way too convenient.

The T-Rex can't do a throw-in to save his life, but he eats up anything that comes into the box.

    Literally.

Sort of like Dema Kovalenko? (Kind of looks like Dema too, now that I think of it.)

Well hopefully I guess, we have more important business like getting points and getting into the playoffs so we can defend our title. But again if lampard waits until he's 35-36 yrs old or older we take millions off the table :sneaky::whistling:. Nesta agreed to non DP contract and he's a former world champ so keep that in mind lampard since you want to return to play along with that toowat JT ( I hate that knob).

    Then again:
With that said, the beginning part of Corners' post says to me Greg hasn't researched the ins and outs there - not because he's lazy or anything, just because other transfers have more vigor (Bradley, Deuce).

Could be LD vs. Deuce at a new level next year (if Clint rumors are true).

Gaudette traded to New York for a 2nd round 2014 supplemental draft pick. This trade has cap-space written all over it.

Yep, plus we've got Mike Magee as our third-choice keeper, so we're covered...

    $60,000

    EDIT

looks like we have already signed his replacement in Brian Rowe so this amounts to not much cap space at all.

Exactly. We probably saved $30,000 in the deal and we don't have a roster spot open even if we did want to sign another minimum contract player after inking Rowe. This seems like either Gaudette's request or NY's request and we figured we could accommodate without losing much in the 3rd goalkeeper spot. Nothing here that smacks of a set-up for another move.

That actually seems like pretty fair value obtained given that it is unlikely Gaudette would have seen minutes with us. Didn't the NY keeper get hurt?

To correct my earlier statement, when combined with the $75,000 saved from Cristman's retirement, we have $130-140,000 of cap space and one open roster spot. Might be enough to do something interesting.

Great! Now let's get rid of barrett and add another 200k (I still can't believe this sum) to our cap room.

We didn't sign Rowe for free. If he is on league minimum then that cap space number is probably closer to $90-100,000.

It is true that Rowe is on league minimum as a first year player under age 25, which means about $33,000 per year now. The difference is that he is young enough that he is considered outside the top 20 player and his salary likely doesn't count at all for salary cap purposes (he would be considered an off budget player). Gaudette was a veteran and if that meant he had to be an on budget player, then we effectively reclaim all of it and not just the net.

The league minimum for a senior roster player is now $46,000/year I believe.
