    I'm going to miss both Menace vs Spitfire home games because i have tickets to see Fire @ Wizards and Dynamo @ Wizards

    (Fire = mine, Dynamo=fiancee's)

    Well it is just the Spitfire. However it is the home opener. I'm a Fire fan as well but I am skipping that road trip.

    I'll be missing the 6/11 game against St Louis, the Latino Select match, and one or two Open Cup matches, depending on if we have to play the USASA round, due to being in Germany. :/

    We play at Kansas City in the afternoon on Sunday May 14th. I'm going to go down. Is there any interest in road tripping with me?

    yeah, it's not too long a drive for a road trip and kickoff is at 2:00pm. It's definately doable.

    (i've actually never been to a sporting event you have to pay for before :eek: )

    heh, well no. We didn't even have to pay to get in for the Brass game last year. They said like the first X number of Menace fans in are free.

    Snake- do you mean Sunday MAY 14th? Cause you wrote this on April 17th.
    I don't have the schedule open in front of me, so I assume that is what you meant.

    i'm going to mis May 6th (Sptifire, home) and July 15th (Lions, Away) not both home spitfire games

    i ordered season tix but I haven't even been billed for em yet - emailed their old address but it did nothing

    what does this pickup party entail - "pickup" could imply several things

    a pickup game for fun, a "pickup of the season" party, etc

    gnerally it means you pick up your tickets and maybe eat some appetizer type snacks. Last year it was at Rookiesin Waukee. They try to get whatever available players are around to attend. Not sure how many drake payers are going to attend or play in the first game for that matter. our finals aren't until after the first game. Then again it is against the $h!+fire so it probably won't matter if we have U12s playing.

    BTW: IF anyone knows of a good car with good gas mileage - like a Honda Civic, Ford Escort, etc i'm looking to get another car - preferably around $4k to $5k - got my fiancee's 1999 Ford Escort SE and we need another -- preferably manual.

    Just spoke to the FO. This year, Red Army members will recieve a discount rate for season tickets of $60, that's $20 off the regular price. That breaks out to $5 a ticket (12 games), $4 less than the regular adult price. There is a great deal for those that wish to be apart of the supporters section so I encourage you to get season tickets now! 515-226-9890

    11 days away from the first game. 2 weeks after that until the regular season home opener :)

    Fans can pick up season tickets tomorrow. The gathering will be at:

    Boston's Gourmet Pizza and Sports Bar
    12401 University Ave
    Clive, IA 50325

    It's around University and 60th. It's going to be from 4-7pm. There will drink specials, and the Menace will be providing finger foods and soft drinks.

    If you don't have season tickets yet things can be arranged at the gathering. The Menace would like everyone who can to come out.

    IASocFan to wife..."Yeah, the traffic was really bad tonight...I wasn't able to get all those honeydos done for you...no, I'm not chewing gum to take away the smell of alcohol on my breath...I don't know anything about a Menace get together tonight...You saw a clip on the news tonight from the Menace party and saw me in the background drinking a beer and having a good time...Have I mentioned lately how much I love you and that I am the luckiest man in the world to be married to you...ok, ok, I am a bad man and will finish those honeydos early tomorrow for you...please don't make me sleep on the couch tonight.

    Hope that doesn't happen to you. My boss was supposed to be getting season tickets for us this year but haven't heard from him if this indeed happened. Hopefully he did, if not we will still get down to at least a couple of games. My sister-in-law in Des Moines is expecting twins in June so I suspect my wife will want to get down to Des Moines quite often in the next few months...see them and take in a Menace game as well.

    I might have tried that, but I've been reffing 3-5 days a week and there are a lot of things to get done. :)

    Are you doing any games this weekend at JFG? If so, have you got the assignments yet? Just curious to see if you'll be doing any of my daughter's games......
