Be realistic here. Do you really think a Grafite-McInerney pairing, with the rest of the current squad, would be good enough for a championship?
Cooper actually had worse numbers with Portscum before he went to PCNJ.

After this season I can't really say I blame you.

Boyd struggled at Portscum, but Portscum is a lousy team that plays on a plastic field. Like Cooper, he would probably find his form if he was given an opportunity to play on a real field and had a competent midfield giving him service. I doubt the Union would pick him up, however, since the FO is allergic to signing DP players, Freddy Adu notwithstanding.

Well unless Paulson picks up a good chunk of his salary and takes Adu off of our hands as well (and seriously he owes us for getting the better of the Mwanga deal, although that was likely one of the last straws that lead to Nowak being sacked), if I was the Union's FO I wouldn't want Boyd's $1.5 million / year contract. At that salary he better be at or near the top of the Golden Boot List and NOT the injured list at the end of the season.....

Marginal playoff positions yes... but Marginal Teams? that's another argument.

Grafite and JackMac would be a start. We're not gonna be able to build a contender overnight.

Yeah I'm taking most of what they're saying with a grain of salt. The anonymity of the account really bothers me.

Has the possibilty of being a second coming of MLS Rumors (so not good). That LA Galaxy being after Snjieder tweet reeks of the MLS Rumors. I guess we shall see how many stories can be verified in the next few weeks.

Hoppenot for Espindola straight up? I think the Union make that deal in a second.

That was just them posing a question. The rumor was just RSL wanting Hoppenot.

As bad as MLS Rumors was at least it was fun to read and dream

True. But a whole bunch of that stuff was just made up. Or you could e-mail them something and you were suddenly a source.

If you want to go dream go take a look at this thread on Italian salaries. You can see what you can try and get for different net salaries over there.

IF (big if) the MLS Transfers twitter handle is valid:

Hack and Sak are headed to Honduras and El Salvador this week evaluating talent.

Albright will retire following MLS Cup.

    RSL inquiring about Hoppenot.

Grafite is evaluating a summer move to Philly.

I'll put more weight on the last two pieces if the first two prove true. Ignoring the question posed by the twitter feed, who on RSL's roster would make sense in a straight up trade?

If Sakieiwicz and Hack are headed to Honduras, I would think that they will check out 27 year old 6'4" national team striker, Georgie Welcome, of Motagua - he had been on loan to Monaco (France)and Atlas (Mexico) and has been rumored heading to MLS in the past. There is also ex-Serie A and now free agent, David Suazo, who fits into the older striker category with Grafite and Ruiz - he has been linked to MLS per the MLS Transfer twitter.

Players that have some sort of production history? Does that sound like the union FO?

Well I'm not winning that is for sure! I used all my luck up winning Union gear. If you win, how about a nice mil or two for each of your Big Soccer friends. At 500+ million in winnings it will be chump change for you! Throw us a bone.

Which players that have production history? The 6'4" guy who has 5 goals in 44 matches since '08 (I don't have his numbers in Honduras but that is his Mexico, France, International, and Continental totals) or the guy that blew out his knee in 2010 and has played 9 games with 0 goals since? I'll take the guy who is destroying the UAE over either of those two (and I've seen how well former UAE players have fared in MLS. See: Alssopp, Denilson, and Wilhelmsson).

Maybe Sack is the purse strings on the trip. If the Union is going to spend on a transfer fee or DP signing, maybe he is there to put the ownership's stamp on it. After Nowak rumors and accusations about kickbacks, I wouldn't be surprised if all the money moves are on the buddy system.
