Isn't there a "P&CE Golf Club Pissing Contest" thread for you people? I love to golf, am terrible at it, own a set of clubs I got from a yard sale, and have absolutely no idea what you elitist snobs are on about
Oh, piss off. I misread the "and" (as in I didn't process it). On the other hand, that's so broad a set of things (inclusive of the "and") I'm not so sure what your point really was. Depending on location, for a halfway decent public track, between $750k and $5M, which is a massive range, but cost of living and all that. Akron's city-owned course had a budget of $1.2M or thereabouts in 2009-2010, and it's good, but nothing to shout about, AND they don't have to pay for water. They consistently overrun their budget, as well.
Nothing against Maryland, but when I move it will be out of the DC area entirely. I can barely wait. You are correct, though. Years of travel soccer have given me the chance to compare recreation facilities in the two states and MD's are much nicer. It's almost like they want to create a pleasant place to live.
Please don't call me a Virginian, I just came here for a job. I feel bad that my kids were born here and will be stuck with that "distinction" for their whole lives.
They'll be clean after enough time and hot showers. Although all jokes aside, I rather like the DC area from my visits and have occasionally thought of living there, albeit probably not on the Virginia side.
Disgusting. Equally disgusting is that you post this in the Obama Failure Thread and not the Libertarian Failure Thread.
http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/obama-blasts-least-productive-congress Congress knows that Obama won't sign most of the bills they want to pass. Obama failure!
Due to Obamacare, an Arkansas free clinic is closing. http://www.menastar.com/ Careful observers will not that Mena Arkansas was the home of the airfield Clinton used to smuggle cocaine into Arkansas. FWIW. Anyway...this Christian ministry is reduced because our Muslim Kenyan president has found that one tactic in his War on Christians is to provide a proper social safety net, thus reducing the dependence of poor people on Christian charity.
That's great - now the church can focus on helping poor people with other necessities - food, shelter, school supplies for the kids, etc.
I might be wrong, but I'm sure that Obama's girth has nothing to do with the Middle East or Crimea. But since David Brooks seems to know better, I'll place this tentatively as Obama's failure. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/20/david-brooks-obama-manhood-problem_n_5182525.html
I just posted that in the GOP Failure thread, and not tentatively at that. Remember, this is the GOP's "intellectual."
Obama is a parasite! http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/in-the-loop/wp/2014/04/26/a-parasite-named-obama/ “Paragordius obamai” or... Obama failure!
The blue line is the one that matters. This is a true Obama failure (jointly with every 1% supplicant in Washington.) Our median household income, adjusted for inflation, has not only not recovered to its pre-crash peak, it hasn't even recovered to the level of the crash before that one. That's pathetic. Austerity was stupid, is stupid, and will remain stupid.
We'll have to thank congress for their inability to pass any measure and for the awesome sequestration deal. Not only the median income decreased, most gains went to our friends the "job creators":
Funny thing, rasing taxes on the 1% would make the charts look more leveled, but would not stop the rich from getting their money, it would just move it from Income to Capital gains (unless Capital gains taxes also go up) http://www.economist.com/blogs/democracyinamerica/2011/03/inequality_and_policy
Now a share of wealth chart, that would be better IMO. A bit of a bias source (left) but does talk about the different type of wealth (home or investment wealth) and also has a chart on wealth by race. http://www2.ucsc.edu/whorulesamerica/power/wealth.html The chart does stop in 2010, but by 2014 the share of the 1% is probably at its highest since 1920.
