Let's destroy the ecnomy and pin it on Obama :

    http://www.classwarfareexists.com/the-republican-congress-is-killing-the-economic-recovery/

With the exception of a transportation bill that President Obama just signed TODAY and been pushing for months and months … there has been an active attempt by the so called “loyal opposition” to prevent the American economy from successfully adding jobs. The bottom line is politics isn’t like playing a game of Hungry, Hungry Hippo. It’s not all fun and games; party before country has become the new mantra of the modern day GOP.

No it doesn’t, these people aren’t collecting SS retirement benefits, they are collecting disability benefits, and the disability rolls are swelling because people can’t find jobs. I suppose the doubling of the food stamp program is also simply a result of demographics?

Or 30 years of supply side destruction of the basic economic mechanism.

It gets easier to get SSDI as one gets older. Claims do jump as jobs get harder to find, which also doesn't necessarily mean the claims are from malingerers either. Beyond that, the article cited has trouble distinguishing between claims and awards, which just means the author (and anyone who relies on the author) is a ********ing idiot.

For most workers (even older ones) filing for Social Security Disability Insurance is the last resort, so it is no surprise that claims go up during extended economic downturns. We’ve been in a economic malaise now for 4 years. The real question is can you name another era when new disability claims outpaced job creation?

That's wrong and you know it. Do yourself a favor and dig in the archives for this forum circa 2003-2007.

Well the man did win a Nobel Peace Prize, right?

    Of course not.
Are you suggesting this month’s stat isn’t rare anomaly but should be considered a normal occurrence over the next decade or so until the entire babyboomer generation moves into retirement? There’s a comforting thought.

The next 3-5 years I expect this could happen quite a few times. One thing to consider also is that the online applications process has really taken off over the last couple years.

Well this and Guantanamo are Obama’s biggest failures with the far left, I think most Democratic posters will admit this.

I am conflicted about it, I was part of the Predator program when I was in the air force, I left right when the hell fire was being introduced. As a weapon I have no issue with it, much better than dropping bombs from a jet or bomber, but the targeting is only as good as the intelligence the crew gets.

I do have a feeling some intelligence a tribal score settling issues, a tribe passes “intelligence” up the chain about a terrorist camp, and it turns out to be probably a family that the clan is feuding with. I am not sure.

Also targeting citizens in foreign soil is bad IMO.

Now the funny/sad thing is that every Republican candidate outside Ron Paul would do the same thing, so Republicans that criticize Obama for this would not say shit if it was a REP President doing it. (yes I know many commenting about this are Libertarians but I bet most of you will vote for Romney and he would do the same thing).

That is ********ed up dude. But it made me laugh so rep 2 you.

I'm pretty sure that a President Ron Paul would do the similar things. The office makes requirements on the man that are often distasteful if not horrific.

That's not to excuse those horrific actions, but the number of people who have both the ambition to desire the office of President and the decency to behave in an ethically spotless manner once they get there is really close to zero.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I will not be voting for Mitt Romney (not that I live in a competitive state). I do agree he would do the same thing.

Everything in Ron Paul's long record says he wouldn't. The office makes no requirement to blow Muslims to smithereens from the sky.
