New York City FC @NYCFC7h Watch live as @JasonKreis is introduced as #NYCFC's head coach at 11am EST tomorrow on http://NYCFC.com. pic.twitter.com/pZ8XEfY140 17RETWEETS 19FAVORITES 3:37 PM - 9 Jan 14 · Details
It was a long press-conference, plenty to digest but let us start with Miles Joseph named assistant coach and David Lee will be head of player recruitment..
Here's what the New York Times has to say. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/11/s...ilosophy-along-with-its-coach.html?ref=soccer
Someone at NYT was in a real hurry... Not a word about a promised announcement for the training campus within weeks, and that it will also be the administration centre for NYCFC. The training ground will be outside NYC but in the state of New York they mentioned as well.
Lee have been at NYRB for a couple of years.. Player performance guy, and at a guess a member of the New Jersey mob that really runs NYCFC
Is it really the young English kid who played FM and FIFA for a living at RB? Wow. Tell me that wasn't forced on Kreis.
Must be him.. http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/blog/_/name/five_aside/id/7795058/a-chat-rbny-analyst-david-lee
If it's really him, then MLS officially has it's first Fifa14 pro at the head of player recruitment for a club. Terrible idea personally, and I'm positive Kreis wouldn't allow this if he was in charge. Weak.
Hey now. The guy is going to be amazing! Who is better to assess a player's abilities than someone that has spent extensive times playing as that player??

It´s just a rather empty title I think.. Everyone knows that Reyna and Kreis will handle everything with a certain enthusiasm
" What I see is that there is growth, but you must grow as a team , not as individuals ," says Txiki on the necessary evolution in MLS. "Serious growth happens when groups and football teams think as a team , and build competitive teams not based on particular players , but based on a style and the formation of their group . " I have a feeling that Kreis and Txiki got a similar view.. A bit of google translate from this article http://www.mlssoccer.com/node/242852
The trick will be, can Kreis do with 3 DPs plus whatever baggage MC lays at his feet. We know he can do a good job with role-players and some exceptional good players.
It´s the holistic approach.. Everyone pulling in the same direction, be they male, female, player, coach, executive or tea lady #together
Here's a better pic and the article with it: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ens-relaunch-ahead-new-Super-League-term.html
I bet Cushing (on the left) wants to run away from the camera, coaches for womens team are seldom hounded by the press. Well, it´s noticeable that the top brass is in Australia, just a single suit to be seen..Casual Friday it is
NY Times article on Jason Kreis: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/18/s...-manchester-way.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&_r=1 I found this part interesting
This sounds really promising.. "“In Salt Lake, we only had two academy teams, U16 and U18, and they were both down in Arizona. In Manchester, it’s all integrated down to the U9s. You can walk out and watch the U11 team play on Saturday, and it looks and plays exactly the same as the senior team. And that, to me, was the most amazing thing I’ve seen. The performance of 11-year-old kids in this club, it was off the charts.”
I just read that. I hope I don't have to feel sorry for you guys. This makes it look like a Chivas situation.
