I'd put Silliest in the middle with Lade and Richards on the left and right. I don't care how good someone is in practice. Really want to know what is up with Tainio's knee.

Not looking good, heard today that it may not be career ending but there's still a very good chance that he'll need season ending surgery. I'd be very surprised to see him back this season.

I been telling you for more than a month now, that he is going to the Year End DL and that at the end of the season he will be waived.... In other words, NO MORE TAINIO he is KAPUT..... And I'm not present at the daily practices....

Nobody has argued that metz, its been clearly reported for more than a month now that his injury is that serious.

Funny that going into the season we thought we had way too many CM's, now we're down to Dax and Palsson for the time being... Hope Soler has someone lined up for the summer!

Oh, he will, bring a Center Attacker MF (CAM) is imperative or at least some one who can cover the front for that matter, actually we have none to play as a CAM (pardon, I most say produce like a CAM).... McCarty playing that roll is the cause of we losing to many game, not because McCarty is at fault, no, but because he is a wrong players as a attacker because he can't do the work of a CAM, so the team when Rafa + Dax are on the lineup, we practically miss two players, just because we have to play Marquez.....One (Dax) playing on the wrong place and the other (Rafa) playing BULL SHIT.....

The break has been really long. I'm just happy to see that league play is almost here.

This game kicks off a really tough week. After Chicago we have to play at Vancouver midweek and then travel all the way home to play against DC next weekend. So a win here would be a great way to kick this stretch off.

Brian Lewis tweeted today it was a torn MCL that never healed correctly. He is running as of now but may need surgery in a few weeks that would end his season and frankly at his age his career as well.

Metz, you rarely make any sense. You had predicted that by this time, we would be struggling near the bottom with a team falling apart full of injuries due to a geriatric squad. Another one in the many of your outlandish predictions.

    Reality:

We are essentially neck and neck right now for the supporters shield and close to the transfer window where we are likely to pick up a real impact player probably in the midfield. The emergence of players like Lade and Barklage has been a pleasant surprise giving us even more depth than I anticipated. Plus McCarty has certainly pulled up his game to the point where missing Tainio is not such a big hit to the team, but for the long haul we do need that extra strong midfielder which will come from our DP signing and hopefully the return of Luke Rodgers will give us the depth up top that we currently lack.

Regardless if Miller starts or Lade starts at left back, we have a team where we can have arguments as to who should start. Lade has shown himself very capable at the outside left midfield spot so he will find his playing time.

With Meara in net and the rest already said, I am feeling the most optimistic I have been at getting that supporters shield and/or the MLS cup.

What keeper in the league can you honestly say has played better than Meara this year? He's easily been top 5.

You have to ask you self a couple of questions?...

1.-What was and still is my criticism against Backe about not using the youngest players....
2.-What was the problem that bring me to say all of that?....

My analysis about what I say, was because after the RBNY bring players like Henry, Marquez, Tainio a very prone injury players, some cones like Ballouchy, Holgersson and Palsson and not conformed with all that they sign Conde (Who I hope to be wrong) that I say about him, that because his injury he will be mentally ill for years and you can see what I say, that he has become three times on the DL this year, plus the Backe insistence in refusing to use our youngsters was what make me to believe that, and I still not to comfortable if Backe don't keep using this young players like Lade, Barklage, Ruthven and McCarty as destroyer in place of Marquez...... Fortunately if the RBNY are on the place that they are right now, isn't thanks to the original plan of Backe/Soler, was a thing out of that nightmares that suddenly finished in a pretty dream, because my fears come true and only in the second month of the season we finish with more than 7 players on the DL and Backe was forced to use the kids that he discriminate time after time, and was this boys who push the lever and bring the team to the place they are right now and not the big names that he sign......

He is definitely up there. Guys like Dan Kennedy, Rimando and Joe Cannon have had really good seasons as well but Meara is right up there with them.

Per the tweets of Franco Panizo -

Marquez and Henry are out for the Fire game and the Whitecaps game. Well I don't care about Marquez but missing Henry hurts.

    Back to the 4-5-1 probably.

What is Henry's issue now? Nice only having two strikers. Can we replace Tainio's MCL with Marquez's?

I think the same hamstring is still bothering him. We had success with the 4-5-1 during our 5 game winning streak and our unbeaten run so we know we can succeed with it. Hopefully that success can continue and that we remain solid defensively.

We had a good amount of luck on that run and played some poor teams.

Chicago hasn't exactly lit up the league this season, and we now have Conde and Pearce to add to the squad that grinded out results through April and May. Even playing a defensive lineup there's no reason we shouldn't expect a result. Vancouver will be a much tougher game though, and we'll be stretched even thinner since Ballouchy cannot travel there.

Luck plays a part but a 5 game winning streak is not something you can purely chalk up to luck. And with the parity in the league it's hard to accomplish.

Dont see Sneijder coming here. Demand for him in Europe among big clubs is huge.

Not really interested in Shevchenko or in Sneijder-- I dont know who Kalstrom is, so I can't comment on him.

Shevchenko is over the hill and would have the same injury worries that Henry has, and Sneijder despite his skill is too much of a hacker and prone to get yellows at the worst time.

Shoulda lost to Philly. I think it was the Houston game where Cooper got the deflection goal. Thats a whole lot of luck in just those two games.

Please explain to me right now why you aren't interested in Sneijder... are you kidding me? He's 28 years old and fills the exact position we need, an attacking midfielder who can keep possession, spark attacks, and occasionally finish them. Singing Sneijder at this point in his career would be a landmark for MLS, we're talking about a guy who was almost the golden boot winner in the last World Cup and unlike most high profile DP's, he has the legs to last for more than 2 seasons. To say you don't want him because he is prone to yellow cards, which isn't even true... cmon man...

We are the friggin Redbulls and you would turn down a player like Sneijder? That's nuts.

Kallstrom is playing for Sweden right now in the Euro and plays for Lyon.
