who cares about who went to a game or not thats not the issue nor is the issue here about the BB...

The issue here is the stupid idea the marketing people over in soho have vomited out this week...

lets not even derail the topic............

Listen up Cosmos jokers and listen good I{m already sick and tired of your damn marketing all it seems that you care about is your brand... a brand thats worthless unless you get a team at the very least in NASL 2nd division you tell me every thing and SHOW ME NOTHING and your idiotic show and tell is getting very old very stale really fast.....

Rather than market some thing 4 years away at the very least why not start working on getting all your buisness plans inorder to secure that MLS Spot as team number 20.
you are starting to become the very embodiment of RIDICULOUS... so much hoopla so much loud noise you get the masses excited but under all that once you start to peel away the layers more and more I see this is heading down a road to MAJOR DISAPOINTMENT...

I{m not fooled i will not yes you at your every whim I hold you to the same standards as I do Nacional I hold you to the same standard as the seattle sounders....

stop with your stupid shit and start showing me half of the seriousness the seattle sounders have....not to mention the success waiting to explode over in portland.......
you never saw any one over there put on a sad ass show like over here in NY...

This cosmos sham is almost as disapointing as that lalas video fake drinking red bull telling me how wonderful it is that Metro was dead and gone and from here on how exciting its going to be to be known as a team with no identity who is a constant reminder to a unhealthy drink........ I want some thing serious perhaps I have been looking toward ny with so much hope seeing how NJ has robbed me of supporting a club perhaps I should start embracing seattle and follow that from afar seeing how here in NY all of this is adding up to amature night OUT SIDE THE APOLLO not even inside on stage.................. thats how all of this is cooking up....... thumbs down all the way, to much lets put the brand out there and as far as serious mls expansion buisness to far and in between... all this talk yeah we want to be in mls is one thing performing the actions to ensure it are 2 different things....

listen cosmos why dont you just tell me your acadamy really is a buisness for you to sell future players to other teams and thats as far as this cosmos thing will go we will call it a day and i{ll have respect for you...............cause deep down inside i think this is whats going to come out of all this...

to much talk hype like when WCW gave hints that the ultimate warrior was signed and at the PPV a screaming dude named renegade came out sending hillbillies to boo and throw trash at the poor renegade dude...... thats what all this reminds me of..

AMEN HERE - How many pictures of non soccer fan stars can we see before we get some more information about an MLS team.

We actually are working on something to voice our opinion about this.

Except that this isn't a respected charity, it's a publicity stunt / for-profit soccer team. Slight difference.

So let's say the Cosmos are in MLS for 2013 (a huge if mind you). You're 18 now, and you wind up playing in this game.

How many of those will just hang around for 1.5 years (again, at best) so they can join a MLS expansion team in 2013? No one who is any good. The good ones will go pro on another MLS team or elsewhere. The not so good ones will go play in college.

So what's the point of fielding a team of 18 year olds then? They won't sell tickets.

What's the best case scenario here? I can't think of how in even the best case scenario this rumor makes any sense, but I'm open to hearing your thoughts (if you're sane that is).

I'm sure that a charity could be found that would suit the needs of all.

Funny that the Cosmas organization and their fans made such a big deal about playing in New York. Their first game is in New Jersey. ROFL!

And don't forget their filthy mexican with his challenge on Cobi Jones which should have resulted in jail time.

For your viewing pleasure at 3:20. http://www.soccerblog.com/2010/08/video-rafa-marquez-vs-cobi-jon.htm

I mean, everyone knows the ESC is laughed at by the front office and the players, but you'd have thought that someone might have said "anyone but the murderous Rafa Marquez!" Oh well, that's ESC for you!

Talking about cheaters, let's put it into perspective. What about the Wilpons making a profit from their dealings with Madoff? News just breaking now says the Wilpons and Mets are being sued by the victim's trustee to give back their "profits". That type of cheating is way, way above doing questionable things on a playing field because with Wilpon/Madoff cheating many people's life savings were wiped out and it ruined the lives of many people. It is far more serious than anything Henry and Marquez did.

The only way that would be wrong is if the Wilpons collude with Madoff to reap such profits. Otherwise it was a completely possible outcome of an investment deal.

Just because they didn't lose on their investment with Madoff makes them guilty of anything. The problem that other "victims" have with Wilpon is that he didn't lose as much. Wilpon lost hundreds of millions but they were in paper profits.

Well, a more serious issue with the whole Madoff scandal is that, while Wilpon didn't actually lose money, he did lose the ton of money he thought he had made through the investment. I've always felt that Wilpon was planning on using that money to back up the MLS expansion team, and he dropped out of the last expansion race when he found out that money didn't exist.

Wilpon is fair game on a soccer board just as Red Bull drink is fair game. Anything that an owner, or potential owner, does in their non-soccer life is open to discussion. If this was a baseball forum, Steinbrenner's felony conviction for obstruction of justice would be open for discussion. It probably prevented him from getting elected to the HOF this week. OK, Steinbrenner is not soccer-related, but Wilpon is because he has been mentioned many times as a possible partner of the Cosmos.

    So back on topic:

Who's going to this game, if it exists? Maybe we should do a mini-poll or something.

    a) going with or without SSS or MLS announcement
    b) going with MLS announcement
    c) going with SSS announcement
    d) not going until they're in MLS

Those are the only possible choices I can see. Personally, I'm going regardless. All the sh*t I said about the Cosmos returning (dating back since my BS beginning), I would be a supercritic rather than an actual fan if I didn't go. Plus I love soccer too much to miss this one.

Going with MLS announcement. Not going if we don't have at least that.

I think by then all of it will be cleared up anyhow - i think there will be a lot of news broken by then.

I am not a fan of the inspirational games at all - i just want an MLS team in Queens - and it seems that they are going to provide that.

Sorry for not Multiquoting but he typed this as I was typing my last response.

If there is no movement on the MLS thing - there is going to be a lot of questions to be answered by June and who is going to play in this INSPIRATIONAL games is the least of them.
