Only just arrived in Japan around the time of the last WC, and was jet-lagged/confused/perplexed by Japan at the time, so had no idea what was going on!

However, there is a question I have to ask. I have been asked to find a bunch of music that represents as many nations as I can at the WC by a local bar that has just bought a big shiny tv for the competition!

Of course, coming from England, there is plenty! 3 Lions, Vindaloo, the list does stretch. However, is there any music that I could get that would represent Japan?

    Thanks!

Ah! So THATS what they say! Heard that one so many times on TV, but the sound was not clear enough to hear the extra words!

Are you looking for football-themed music, or music in general?

It's the only song from them I know so I'm fine.
About Beginner, I'v been addicted to that shit since months. Again, the only song from AKB48 I listen to, I watch the other clips without the sound.

    Re: Music

I can't stand people who enjoy AKB ironically. That shit is destroying what little credibility the Japanese music industry has left. It's even worse than *shudder* Johnny's. And only slightly better than the holy mess up in Korea.

Then again I'm struggling to work in the punk scene so maybe I'm just a little bitter at a guaranteed pauper's death. But at least I have better taste in music :D

I've shot these guys a lot lately, they're on the first few floors of an elevator-esque rise to the top at the moment:

If you wanna masturbate to school girls, be a man about it and go to one of the dozens of YouTube-esque porn sites. Don't support cancer.

    Re: Music

lol wtf with the masturbating thing, I'm a bit disturbed by the sexual tension displayed on those clips cause the audience is supposed to be young, but these girls are cute and around my age. End of the story.

    Re: Music

No they aren't. The audience is supposed to be lonely male otaku in their 30s and up. That's who they've always been geared towards, and that's pretty much their bread and butter. And if you don't believe that then you have absolutely no understanding of Japanese idol culture.

    Re: Music

I know that, but I have a lot of young japanese friends fans of this thing and these girs are on teenagers magazines every week. But you're right I forgot about the lonely male otaku stuff. I'm not in touch with J-music everyday, not really my cup of tea.

    Re: Music

Yeah, but who do you think is buying up all those magazines, photo books, $100 tickets to rock-paper-scissors tournaments, merch, etc. The teenagers? Nope, it's the hardcore fans. Young kids don't know better, ESPECIALLY in this country. In my experience Japanese kids have shit taste in music until they enter college.

I remember back when BSB and N*SYNC were, for all one could tell, the only musical acts in the US. And I would trade AKB mania for those days, no question about it.
