    Final: Pumas 33 Georgia 3.

It came at the last minute, but they got the very important bonus point, for scoring four tries.

Great win for the Pumas today.:D

Well I did skip class today to watch the game, and let me tell you... I didn't understand a thing. But it was very exciting for the most part.

Luckily there was an old Argentino at the bar, and he briefly explained to me what was going on.

The bar that I went to is in the city of Hermosa Beach California, and the name of the place is The Underground.

If anyone lives within driving distance pm me and I'll give you directions to the bar.

we play again on Saturday the 22nd against Nambia. You know where I'll be at.

Come on down Para a apoyar a nuestros Pumas.

The match against Ireland is the one that should be most anticipated.

Wow, two matches, two wins, no tries against, no serious injuries. So far, excellent.

I have a feeling that by the time we face the Irish, they may be already out of contention (if they struggled against Namibia I can't see how much easier would be to overcome the tough Georgians). Even if they still have chances, it should be a close match against the Pumas and point difference and bonus point will be important.

The good thing is that qualifying 1st (avoiding New Zealand and potentially facing an unimpressive Scottish side) or 2nd (most likely the ticket back home against the All Blacks) depends only on the Pumas. They win 2 more matches and we top the group.

Vamos Pumas, que talento y categoria que tiene Juan Martin Hernandez, known as the Maradona of Rugby according to the English media

PS: Btw, speaking of Diego, he is coming round to Birmingham to play a rematch of the 86 against the pirates. It should be fun to say the least but I don't know how many of that Argentina team may be fit enough to play at least one half! Anyone around to lend some support to the 86 warriors???

    France beat Ireland today 25-3.

Looks like the Irish are going to have to go all out when they play Los Pumas.

    Should be fun.

    Vamos Pumas, a ganaaaaaar!

We should win this one with the bonus point, but strange things happen. Loffreda went for a very strong XV and this is probably to limit the possibility of Namibia causing us problems (like Georgia did). But Namibia are the weakest in our group and although they have fast wingers and a powerful pack, they are very inexperienced. It would be great if we can avoid being scored (tries) against. My prediction: Pumas 53 - Namibia 3

Beers chilled in the fridge, take-away being ordered, and a large ARgentinian flag. Yes Sr., I am ready for the match. Let's bring' em on.

    It's a weird scoring system.

As I understand it, Argentina would be eliminated only if Ireland beats them by more than seven points, and scores at least four tries, and prevents Argentina from scoring at least four tries.

If Argentina stays within seven points, or scores at least four tries, they are awarded a bonus point, and with that bonus point they have enough points to qualify even with a loss.

If Ireland wins but they don't score four tries, they get four points, but they fail to get a bonus point, so they are eliminated even though they win.

Of course, this is assuming France wins over Georgia, (which they most likely will.) A France loss and Argentina is in regardless of how they do against Ireland.

Come on Pumas. This is possibly the biggest match of your lives. Just manage to get the bonus point, we top the group, and a good chance of making the semis (provided we beat a very beatable Scotland which couldn't score a try against Italy). Let's show the rugby world who we are. Come on guys. It ain't gonna be easy or pretty, just get the job done. Now more than ever do I wish this as it would be great if argentinians were to care more about the rugby than for the football team that will fail to impress in the qualifiers. My prediction: Pumas 27 - Ireland 22.

Damn Setanta is not showing the match live. Oh well.

So far so good for Los Pumas according to La Nacion, they're up 8-3. But it's still early.

We have to remember that on paper Ireland is considered by experts the better team, based on its players and past results. But of course, Los Pumas have played better at this tournament, and I am confident that they will pull it off.

France won easily against Georgia as expected, and got the bonus point. So, Los Pumas need either a win, tie, or at least to get a bonus point, to finish first in the group and get Scotland instead of New Zealand.

Ireland needs to win and get four tries to eliminate us. No tries for them so far.

Halftime. Argentina is up 18 to 10.

Ireland got a try. (The first try Argentina conceded in this tournament.) So, they only need three more in the second half to eliminate us.

But more importantly, Argentina got two tries and they are up eight points. If they score two more tries, or if they lose by seven points or less, they still get the bonus point and finish first, even if somehow Ireland manages to turn it around.

So, it's not over yet, but it looks good so far. Lets win it!

Ireland gets a second try. It is 21-15 Argentina now, but still it could go either way.

The Irish still hope. Here is what the Irish commentary says:

However, the score is now 24-15. Ireland not only needs two tries, but they need to score 17 more points than Argentina to win by seven and take away the bonus point.

I think we win this outright.
