Could be interesting tomorrow, with Russia having a couple of 7 footers and the US center being Lamar Odom who is like 6'9'' I think. ALso, anyone hear Coach K's comments about Russians coach who says that now the refs got the 1972 call right. "I guess he can see now because the tears are out of his eyes." HA
Does Turkey have Turkoglu and Okur? I'm guessing yes since their hosts...Lithuania were struggling v. China early but erased the defecit real quick Does Russia have a chance v. U.S. you think?
Yea saw that article about their coach, didn't hear coach K's comment though hahahaha nice! Can't wait to see how scared Russia's guard play will handle the rock coming up the floor. Can't imagine it being worse than Jasekevicius for the Pacers but it just might be lol
Don't get what, the Russian coach? Apparently he was on the 72 team and was crying after the US lost to the Soviets. Well recently he made the comment that the refs got the call right. Coach K was asked about it and made the comment above.
The US can always **** a brick, but it should win easily if it stays focused and doesn't **** the aforementioned brick.
No he wasn't on the '72 team, was he?? I think they referred to Doug Collins in the article, maybe that's what your thinking.
No, he was at Princeton from 77 to 82. K is I think referencing the fact he was an American kid (before he found out that playing for Israel would be easier than fighting for a spot on the US Roster) at the time and probably heartbroken and outraged at the outcome.
Just saw the ESPN piece again, I totally made up the part about him being on the team. He apparently did cry, but just as a fan.
Yea...that's funny as hell what Coach K said though haha Russian sport has been embarrassing of late, a blowout loss tomorrow and a loss at Ireland next month will make for a looooong winter
I'm pretty good at hyping Russia. Even if people think it's ridiculous they subconciously begin to overrate the team.
While it should be an ass-whomping, I do hope Kaun does well. He was a great Jayhawk, and he belongs in the NBA (it seems his skillset is somewhat wasted in Euro-ball)
You are so crazy haha, you think you have that much weight that what you say changes peoples opinion about Russia without them knowing it? lol
