fair point - don't think NPSL has announced them yet (since when are they ever timely?). but they were at the meeting for the Northeast Conference @ Brooklyn Italians this past weekend. is that official enough?
NPSL Midwest-Great Lakes: FC Buffalo, AFC Cleveland, Detroit City FC, Erie Admirals, FC Sparta Michigan, Zanesville Athletic.
Discovered this today. The new Hershey club is simply named Hershey F.C. Some of the crests for clubs that were announced earlier but not elaborated on are included as well. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...3127383221.174275.180355313221&type=1&theater
It wasn't, but it is on the NPSL banner on Facebook along with Lowell Rapids. Neither have been announced yet. Lowell is in Mass., right? Something will come out after the convention when things get finalized, right? Heard both Hershey FC and Hershey Wildcats (the old A-League team, naming rights issue?)
From the Board of Chattanooga Football Club newsletter. "...2013 will bring the largest southeast conference yet seen by the NPSL with 12 total teams, including a new western region rival for us in New Orleans!" http://chattanoogafc.com/news/2013/01/newsletter-from-the-board-of-chattanooga-football-club/ So, I'm guessing the Southeast is: EAST Georgia Revolution Cape Coral Hurricanes Atlanta Silverbacks Reserves Miami United Tampa Marauders FC Jacksonville United WEST Chattanooga FC Knoxville Force Rocket City Mississippi Storm New Orleans Jesters Gulf Coast Texans (Pensacola)
The schedule COULD be released after this weekend. At the NSCAA National Convention, the NPSL AGM will be held. The schedule should be finalized then.
The New Orleans Jesters will still be PDL. FC New Orleans will be the team joining this league. http://www.nola.com/soccer/index.ss...ns_gives_city_another_soccer_team_league.html Here's their website. They don't keep up with it very well. http://www.fcnola.com/
Jesters have jumped ship from PDL to NPSL, 100%. Not sure if the other New Orleans team plan to play or not, don't seem very professional.
http://www.kenn.com/the_blog/?p=5078 looks like USL has lost 12 PDL teams from last season and added 4 expansion franchises
I I stand corrected. From what it looks like the Jesters are in. I need to make a phone call to see what's going on with FC NOLA.
now its time for NPSL to get teams in Washington and Oregon Places or teams I suggest are Bellingham United from the Pacific Coast League, Euguene, Tacoma, Spokane, Victorica( British Canada), and just being bold Seattle
personally I would love to see them try again in Salem Oregon. Willamette played a number of years in the USL PDL.
I see that PDL will have 65 teams for the 2013 season, and the NPSL about the same, wouldn't it be better to have 130 teams playing D4 soccer ?
Im guessing The Dalles in the Gorge is too small for a team? population of 12k in the town and a few towns close by which might give some support.
I agree...but wouldn't it be better to say "Now it's time for Washington and Oregon to get teams in the NPSL?" Kentucky and West Virginia are needed too. I really cannot understand why anyone would join the PDL over the NPSL. The one perk is more bids for the USOC, but that'll only go upward for the NPSL.
I did a study a couple years ago comparing the PDL to the NPSL. Since we steadied the ship at the NPSL with requirements to join the league in 2008 the drop out rate dropped from 55% to 5% or something like that (that is of the new teams). The teams don't fail as much at the NPSL level because of the business model. We knew that the league would eventually be at a point to have full-time staff (still getting there talking to those still in the league after their AGM this weekend at the NSCAA convention). Like i've posted previously, I was very happy to be part of the NPSL as a team owner (now FC Buffalo renamed from Queen City FC via Buffalo City FC), Commissioner and then the Director of New Membership. New website is coming as well, more marketing, and a new Final's arrangement should only help with the professionalism. It's like watching one of your kids grow up I guess (I just have a cat though, so I have no idea really haha).
I have always felt the NPSL a more professional and stable group....but my feelings are of no consequence! But thank you for your inside the league comments, I find them very interesting.
I think what help NPSL is the Rust Belt Derby team that got a lot of media press and San Diego Flash trying to move up to the NASL level
