https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10151580356853452&id=225584328451 So, a new team possibly in Hershey? If Scranton adds this season too, then the NE divisions are really starting fill up nicely!
Also the link suggests a new team in Reading, PA. If you're interested, I speculate on some potential conference realignments over at http://parlorcityfootball.com/ - any thoughts on the realignments? Seems like this a great opportunity for some truly regional structuring in the NE.
but you know how it is in these lower divisions... teams claiming to be joining leagues, when the league knows nothing of it. granted this one seems legit, but i've seen stranger things...
Yes I'm curious to see who is still around this year. I'm glad to see a lot of the groups I had been working with for years prior to my leaving have finally committed. Glad to see a whole bunch more pop up too! Now if only with the expansion fee's the clowns that refuse to spend money on anything loosen the purse strings and update the site and hire someone to actually work for the league. That is the biggest black eye they have (people like Real San Jose's group who don't get business).
Distance: The direct distance between Jacksonville, Florida and Miami, Florida is 326 miles (525 km). The driving distance between Jacksonville and Miami is 348 mi - about 5 hours 19 mins. Flight: Jacksonville, FL (JAX) to Miami, FL (MIA) Flight Duration 1 hour 41 mins And that for NPSL soccer in front of 150 fans
Jacksonville had to drive over 5 hours for ALL of their teams last season in the old conference alignment. At least in the new alignment they will have Tampa about 3 hrs away. About all we can deduce is that Jacksonville is really not close to any other NPSL team. BTW: The Tampa Marauders have updated their website showing the Sunshine Conference to include the Georgia Revolution and ATL Silverbacks Reserve. Not sure where Myrtle Beach is going, but they are a long haul for every other team.
Didn't Jacksonville had to play 1 game in Tulsa ? There are 920.69 miles from Jacksonville and Tulsa and 1097 miles by car. Jacksonville and Tulsa are 18 hours 11 mins far apart (by car).
I am not sure, I was just looking at the NPSL conferences from last season. I did not follow the NPSL last year.
at least for the 2011 season Jacksonville and Tulsa were in the same conference (04/10/11) - Jacksonville United FC (JUFC) will be joining the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) for the upcoming 2011 season and will compete in the Southeast Conference. JUFC will face-off against the likes of the Atlanta Silverbacks Reserves, FC Tulsa, Georgia Revolution, Knoxville Force, Rocket City United and 2010 NPSL National Finalist Chattanooga FC.
I've heard from them that they are coming back, so...maybe a division with Chattanooga, Knoxville, CASL Elite and Rocket City? One of the Virginia teams? Of course more teams are to be announced so maybe they will help fill out a new division. At about 350 miles to Jax and about the same to Atlanta, MBFC loses their closest away games, but at least the addition of CASL Elite in Raleigh (about 3 hours away?) helps. At least they won't have to do that 1500 mile round trip to Mississippi again.
Distance between Biloxi (MS) and Myrtle Beach (SC) How many miles? 741 Miles / 1193 Km How many hours? This take 12 hours 27 mins
From what I heard Myrtle Beach is going to be in a division with CASL and the Virginia teams, etc... Don't have any sources but I've spoken to certain people at CASL and they said MB will be in with them
You know, you're right. As the distance between the two cities is 741 miles as you thoughtfully pointed out, a ROUND TRIP (meaning "There and Back Again" in the original Hobbit) would be 1482 miles, not 1500. I admit being off by 18 miles. Sorry for the inconvience.
I was just confirming that it is roughly 1,500 miles round trip, adding that it is roughly twice over 12 hours in the bus
On the Virginia FC site... the 2013 South Atlantic Conference is listed. Virginia FC CASL RVA Football Club Chesterfield United FC Myrtle Beach FC ...and to brentgoulet. Sorry I was an ass about the mileage thing.
The Gulf Coast Texans (out of Pensacola) have announced and will play in the Southeast Division. http://internationalsoccernetwork.com/blog/?p=5153
http://www.npsl.info/home/684834.html NPSL doubles down on claim that New Orleans Jesters are joining the league.
16 announced 2013 Expansion Teams Cape Coral Hurricanes CASL Elite CD Aguiluchos USA Chesterfield United FC FC Sparta Michigan Gulf Coast Texans Las Vegas Stallions FC Liverpool Warriors Miami United SC New Orleans Jesters (from PDL) Rock City SC RVA Football Club (Richmond, Virginia) Tampa Marauders FC Tulsa Athletics Virginia FC Zanesville Athletic FC Please correct me if I am wrong
What am I missing here? A Florida based team named the Texans (with the Lone Star state on the logo to boot).
