This is tired Feilhaber-apologist-ism. Dude is invisible. Go somewhere else? Mexico? Becasue I dont rate him, I just feel like people talk about him like its still 2009. I've watched the Revs this year and he is just anonymous...only directly contributed to 3 of NE 30-something goals.
Is it confirmed that there will be friendlies later on this year? I know there's been talk of Russia, but according to USSoccer.com, the MNT schedule is empty for the remainder of 2012: http://www.ussoccer.com/Teams/US-Men/Schedule-Results/2012.aspx
My 21. No MLS players, only Mexicans who aren't getting consistent time, see if Chandler or Johansson want in... save our older players like Bocanegra, Howard, Cherundolo, and Dempsey from the travel... I know this could be a road test but I don't think the midweek fixture will be easy on the legs. -----------Altidore-----Boyd---------- Kljestan--Bradley--Williams--Corona Johnson--Cameron-Goodson-Lichaj/Chandler -----------------Guzan----------------- GK: Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Dan Kennedy (Chivas USA), Zac MacMath (Philadelphia Union) DEF: Timmy Chandler/Michael Parkhurst (Nordsjaelland), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Maurice Edu (Stoke City), Oguchi Onyewu (Malaga), Eric Lichaj (Aston Villa) MID: Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim), Joe Corona (Tijuana), Jermaine Jones (Schalke), Michael Bradley (Roma), Josh Gatt (Molde), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg) FWD: Jozy Altidore (AZ Alkmaar), Terrence Boyd (Rapid Wien), Herculez Gomez (Santos Laguna), Aron Johansson/Andrew Wooten/Charlie Davies 45' Guzan for Kennedy 45' Onyewu for Goodson 60' Gomez/Johansson for Boyd 60' Jones for Williams 66' Diskerud for Kljestan 70' Gatt for Corona
does anybody know what happens before the hex other than Russia friendly in Nov? Is the Russia friendly the last chance cafe for newbies before the hex begins? (I'm not counting camp cupcake which is a joke).
Besides January Camp and this year the USSF might not even schedule friendlies for that camp. Besides that yes, Russia is the last chance before the Hex.
Russia has a good team and Capello is managing. They were smart to hire him. Just what they needed. The team at the Euros needed changes before the WC. Since this is the last chance to see new players, I'd like to see how some of our very young guys would do against a team like Russia so I would take 50% young up and comers with talent and 50% old order to mix in there so it is a serious match. Remember when we faced Italy early on in Klinsi's tenure and we saw their young guys plus Pirlo? So I would like to see: Young: (positions are notional) -------------------Guzan-------------- --Gatt--------Bessler---Hedges----Johnson-- -------------------Cameron-------------- --------Pontius---------------Corona------- ------Wenger------Altidore--------Shea---- plus: some vets like Lichaj, Edu, Bradley, Boca, Spector, John, Lenhart, EJ, Gordon + 2 gk's That young 11 up there is full of people who can really put the hurts on ya'. Don't laugh. They just need to learn to play ! (lol)
--------------Altidore------------- -E.Johnson--Corona-------Gatt- -----------Zusi--Williams-------- Castillo-Parkhurst-Cameron-Lichaj ---------------Guzan--------------- Would be a cool line up for me.
Seems Shea has shut it down to heal up. Don't think he'll play again this year. Maybe a few weeks from now he's feeling better, but he'd be out of form anyway and not had played in a month by then. Think we don't see him until Jan.
Let's call in ~2-4 U-20's... GOALKEEPERS: (3) Sean Johnson Nick Rimando Brad Guzan DEFENDERS: (7) Eric Lichaj Timothy Chandler John Anthony Brooks Seb Hines Maurice Edu Geoff Cameron Fabian Johnson MIDFIELDERS: (8) Benji Joya Mario Rodriguez Clint Dempsey Michael Bradley Mikkel Diskerud Daniel Williams Graham Zusi Josh Gatt FORWARDS: (5) Chris Pontius Landon Donovan Jose Villareal Jozy Altidore Terrance Boyd --------------------------Guzan--------------------------- -Lichaj--------Edu--------------Cameron-----Johnson- -------------------------Williams------------------------- --------------Bradley---------------Joya---------------- -Gatt------------------Altidore------------------Pontius- Yeah, I went there.
Don't think any MLS players will be called in including the dreaded one. I can see 6 subs: Bedoya, O'Brien, Gatt, Diskeruud, Whitbread (if healthy), and Brooks. The other 12 field players: Fabian, Williams, Cameron, Boca, Dolo, Jones, Bradley, Dempsey, Corona, Altidore, Boyd, Gomez. Alternates: Torres, Edu, Pontius (if not in playoffs), Chandler (if he stops being a baby).
its a friendly so just take the kids and see if they have it in them. brazil has been doing it this year lets do it too. -------------Altidore------------- -Shea------Corona-------Gatt- ------Diskerud--Williams-------- Castillo-Gonzalez-brooks-Lichaj ---------------Guzan---------------
Corona and Gomez won't get called up because the Mexican playoffs start Nov 13 the day before the Russia friendly.
This is certainly shaping up to be a Euro-only affair based on duration and timing so EJ, Gomez, and Zusi missing from the Guatemala starters.
------------------altidore ----------------------------dempsey --------johnson-----jones----bradley --------------------williams---------- --parkhurst--------------------------cherundolo -----------bocanegra----cameron --------------------guzan bench/called in: goalkeeper, kljestan, edu, gatt, goodson, brooks, diskerud, orozco, spector, boyd
