I spent 6 months in Uzbekistan. Let me assure you, there is no adventure to be had there. Ridiculously corrupt government and interesting mix of Russian, Arabic, and Central Asian cultures... very nice people that speak like a million languages (we had a elementary school kid as our translator for a couple hours - he was brilliant and got a box of fanta and a brand new adidas soccer ball in exchange for his excellent services) But absolutely no adventure to be had.
LOL fair enough, I used the phrase adventure to sound political correct, I was expecting Uszbekistan to be more like you said Scotch, though I must admit Central asian culture fascinates me a lot.
