http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25429761 that was rather quick. Tells me that this may have been in the pipeline for a little while.
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25441369 http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25437902 with Aguero facing up to possibly two months out some of our rivals appear to be losing players in both the short and possibly long term
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25451422 good for him. I like to see investment in the non League clubs as well. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25408242 Wilshere out for two games- including ours http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25457024 yet more reasons to be grateful for Roman
He'd be an idiot to resign if it reduces his chance of getting a big award for damages. I'd say stay and stick it to the bastard when he does.
We really should start the season a week earlier and implement a 2 week Christmas/Winter Break. While other leagues are resting their players for a winter break, we're gonna play 4 matches in the span of 12 days. I think that's freaking crazy.
That's just another reason why EPL is the hardest league to win and why it's the most popular league to watch. Cold weather is for sissies in the Iberian peninsula.
That's been suggested loads of times, (particularly by England supporters), but it's suspected that, (and with some justification it has to be said), that the clubs would simply take the opportunity to take the players on a, 'exhibition tour' somewhere, the far east being the most likely scenario. There was a study done a few years back that looked into the form of players and it was reckoned that people that played in the EPL suffered when it got to summer tournaments REGARDLESS of which international teams they played for.
Agreed. The fact that it's pretty much the only game in town for a period of time only adds to the interest (and of course adds to the sticker price for tv rights). I personally love the festive period fixtures and squads these days are deep enough on the whole to ride it out. Given how much I hate international break weekends, the thought of 2-3 weeks with no footy of any kind sends shivers down my spine.
That's no world I want to live in. I love the congested winter fixtures, teams built for the longhaul should pull through fine, seems like an apt time for TSO to use our deep squad
agreed with most of the above as much as I think a break would benefit the players- I think Naughtius is spot on that if the teams were granted a "break" that they would suddenly have a mini tour to raise more money. I also think that if tptb are serious about having a winter break then we need to see a drastic reduction in needless International friendlies and breaks as they seem to be more of a hindrance. I also enjoy the tradition of the Holiday fixtures and while we constantly hear these gripes about the struggles on the players/squads it always seems to amaze me that some of the "smaller" clubs usually have a decent run during this period and we see quite a few upsets from them.
Nani out for a couple of weeks and now talk that Fellaini will be out for up to six weeks coupled with RVP being out and Roon playing through injuries and Moyes has a very challenging few weeks on his hands
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25463243 probably a good move for him to try to get himself going again. Seems his last couple of moves have not worked out that well.
