What's the story with Lyn? They went bankrupt so they are starting all over from the bottom? Nice to have that kind of support already in place to work your way up. Lillehammer is in the division above that (3rd level) and never get that type of support. :/

Well former FC Lyn is now Lyn Fotball within the alliance athletic club Ski and football club Lyn. Before FC Lyn became FC Lyn they pulled out to stand outside the alliance as a more or less independent club but still got to use the benefits from the Ski and football club. So when Lyn went bankruped they only affected them as a independent club more or less. But the debdt remaining got transfered to the clubs second team witch was paid. So the team got transfered to Ski and football club Lyn so that they from 2011 played in level 5 In Norway.

    Sandnes-Lilleström 0-1 (0—1)

    Fredrikstad-Tromsö 2-0 (1—0)
    1—0 Nenad Sreckovic (13), 2—0 Tarik Elyounoussi (57).
    attendance: 6107

Rosenborg thrashing Aalesund. Two norwegian sides still in European competition. AAlesund looked a bit tired in this match and at the same time Rosenborg still posesses some very high class players including Dockal.
Frode Kippe giving Lilleström the win away at in a bottom clash. Swedish coach Haglund I suspect have been a bit pressurized earlier when the points haven´t been produced.
Fredrikstad slightly surprisingly (?) wins away at Tromsö. The Northerners might just have been a bit tired and affected by a tough schedule due to them playing in Europe also......

Wikipedia claims that John Mensah now plays for Rosenborg BK, yet I cannot find him on any roster pages or anything of the sort. Did he just have a trial?

Results from one of the best leagues in Scandinavia Tippeligaen! I hope more people pays a visit here more often! Also there are Norwegian clubs still left in European competition. Be sure to follow Rosenborg and Co.

What I like about the Norwegian league is the fantastic physical dimension to their game. I have watched a couple of games and it strikes me that it is a very physical league compared to the games I witness in Allsvenskan. The Danish league is more technical. The swedish very tactical at times. But on the other hand one shouldn´t generalise too much either. Every now and then we see some games breaking these patterns.

Here are the fixures coming in including one from the 23rd round between Brann and Rosenborg in front of 14000 spectators. If you press the results there you can also see some highlights from those games:

    http://www.altomfotball.no/element.do?cmd=tournamentFixtures&tournamentId=1

As we can see from the standings of the league Rosenborg are now in the lead for the time being but both Molde and Strömsgodset have yet to play their 24th round matches.....

    http://www.altomfotball.no/element.do?cmd=tournamentTable&tournamentId=1&useFullUrl=false

Also notable is that the huge club Vålerenga is very much up and down this year. First they win then they lose, then win , then lose again. No steadiness there.......

Again im sorry for the lack of update in here. I get demotivated by the way my club is run and play theese days.
A small update from the cup here in Norway is that Tromsø meets no other then Hødd in the final.:laugh::cry:
To give some info about Hødd , there live around 5600 people in their area and the tema are struggeling to survive in level 2 . A proofe that the cup still alive in its best well being.

Rosenborg is back on track with their 5-2 win over Haugesund on friday
And Lsk played a draw against Viking today.

    Tabellen
    Rosenborg 24 45 - 20 46

    Tromsø 22 34 - 24 36

Hödd (excuse me for the ö), reminds me of Åtvidaberg and Mjällby in the Allsvenskan. The kind clubs that probably won´t be able to be represented in the future in the highest league as money becomes increasingly important. I´m a bit divided concerning this. One wants as much quality in the league and resources for the clubs. And always nice to see good attendance and propper Ultras groups, but on the other hand there is something beautiful with these small countryside clubs mingling in with the big Boys. Seing the small Ultras groups showing up is lovely too.

There are a couple of small clubs I see in the Tippeligaen too. Sandnes can´t be a big town I guess. Hönefoss is another. In Sweden many, many medium sized towns are not represented. In Norway most of the most populated cities and towns seem to be in place in the highest league!? In Sweden we have hockey as a competing sport as well. Many medium sized towns are hockey-towns.

It seems as if money isn´t having the upper hand yet in most Scandinavian leagues? Local enthusiasm is still a working factor I guess contra strict buissines and financial factors only......

Vifvaf, we all know about the Might of Klanen of Vålerenga (keep on giving us feedback from them). And we also have Brann supporters and Rosenborg showing the way. Lilleström is a very tight group too. Lyn reminds us perhaps of Hammarby? Playing on a lower level but still having very active Ultras! But I would really like to be updated when it comes to the smaller groups too. This always is fascinating to follow.

Ps. By the way, you´re not alone. My IFK Göteborg is having a dismal season and have 2 points less than Vålerenga with 1 game more played. I know the frustrating feeling.

Hahaha Hødd isn`t exactly the center of the univers :p But as we say here in Norway . Cup er cup (cup is cup)

The last minute from the semi final in Ulsteinvik (Hødd)

And i would agree with you on the divided view on big and small clubs in the top leagues. On one side it is a good thing for the interest for top football in norway around the country as a hole. But as you say the attendance and the intensity in and around the big teams is beautiful and something i find more funny then standing on a scaffold stand in pissing rain hitting your face in 5 degrees celsius with no or poor sanitary conditions . Although i can understand how contryside clubs like to be visited by bigger clubs with many followers. So personally i would prefer a 12 or 14 team league.

Yes the biggest cities is mainly the places with teams represented in the top league . But Sandnes isn`t all that small . They have about the same population as citys like Tromsø , Drammen and bigger then both Haugesund and Ålesund for example. But there is not a well known city when they are relatively close to Stavanger , and therfor might tend to get i the shade of Stavanger. In that way i guess Sweden might be more centralized then Norway.

As to the money and the local enthusiasm i would at least from my point off view very much agree. Norwegian football would not be able to survive without the local volunteer work around in every club. And i guess you can see much off the same mindset in the fan groups to. And that might be a huge factor to why fans all over Europe fight to keep as much of the game for the people. Because before the influx and the influence of money in football people know that their club was built and run by and for the people in almost 100 years. So i guess that is a huge part in the big resistance against what people cal the modern football.

I will do my best to serve some updates from the smaller groups around in Norway. The only problem here is the lack of things to show as there often is very little "news" or "happenings" from the smaler groups. But i will try my best . ;)

Thank you IFKGøtet1. It is VERY frustrating to see you club vanish from an intresting club with stories and thing happening in and around the club constantly to what we see to day. It is just sad. We really need some interesting people coming in to the club. The ups and downs is something we have gotten used to . But now it is just plain boring . No enthusiasm , no attutude , everything is to be done and played safe and so one.

By the way , Lyn secured their promotion to level 3 today.

Wow these posts by you are fantastic! Thank you I´m greatful!

Well, what can I say, as we can see there are some well established Ultras behind the biggest clubs. Nice to see. I would actually say that the depth is just as good as in Sweden. Maybe we have a couple more big groups, but I would definately speculate in that Norway have just as good a depth then looking at the medium large groups.

So these were legal pyros? Wow that great man. Have you guys reclaimed the legalizing of pyro!??? :D

I love many of your arenas too. Very tight genuine football arenas indeed. I like Bergen´s arena really much.

Kjettil Waehler thinks Vålerenga Kjerke is the most beautiful Anthem in the world.

Greetings from the neighbour in the East!

I love your enthusiasm for the Ultras scene. Reminds me of Afca_Mokum!:D

The use of flares has more or less become accepted in Norway. We have had a pilot project the last two years where the fans can apply to use flares in the stands. Of course including some safety measures . But yes i think we can say we have managed to legalize the use of flares at least for now.

As to the arenas my favorit stadiums in Norway must be :
Fredrikstad stadion . One floor with no seats in the visiting section. Intimate stadium close to the field and just the right size for FFK . http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fredrikstad_stadion
Brann stadion. The same here with a one floor stadium, but with seats in the away section. also a stadium with the stands close to the field and just the right size for Brann . http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brann_Stadion
Viking stadion . Once again a stadium with one floor , close to the field but some times it can seem a bit big for Viking . But considering the results Viking has had the last years , it might not be so strange that the people of Stavanger have stayed home. http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viking_stadion
Åråsen . Is also a stadium with one floor but a poorly designed stadium with ( belive it or not ) flats behind the away section in the stadium. As you can see from this picture where the residents of the flats stand on their private porch and watch the match behind the away fans. This of course often leads to bickering and irritation for some. Also with seats in the away section , something they realy should consider to remove, at least from parts of the away section.
And Åråsen stadion has poles witch prevents the view of the field as a hole for some. But Klanen fills the away side here as LSK is one of our biggest enemies so i have lots of good memorties from this arena , even though it could be designed better. But a right sized stadium for LSK .
    http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Åråsen_stadion

And finaly the last of the top 5 arenas in Norway for me we have Skagerak Arena. A great away section with great acoustic . But maybe a bit big for ODD. All over a good arena with a quite big first floor with also is qite near the field.
    http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skagerak_Arena

Vålerenga Kjerke is at least Norways best football anthem with alot of history in it. So i understand his love for the song ;)

What has happened to Stabaek?? Not five years ago they were Tippeligaen Champions and played in the CCL. They were finalist in the Norwegian Cup. Now it appears they will be relegated. Even though it has been a while since they were champs, this is quite a fall from grace!

Weren´t (and still is?) they having financial trouble too?

Lyn is another classic Oslo club also losing the edge from earlier. As Vifvaf wrote though, Lyn seems to be fighting their way back upwards the league-system in Norway....!?

Stabæk aimed to high and lost. Lyns trouble came as a result from a rich uncle pulling out combined with bad managment from the club leaders. And they had the Mikkel case.

Stabæk plays with more or less a clean junior team this year. But im sure they will get back up in a yeatr or two. Luckely for them they didn`t go bankruped.

Lyn will come back . Only question is when. Now that Lyn have reached level 3 they will face alot more resistance. This is the level where most of the 2`nd teams for the tippeligaen compete and it is the lowest level of pro football in Norway.
I think they have a own league for 2`nd teams in Sweden?

I saw the highlights from The Vålerenga vs FFK game and although FFK equalized it looked like VIF created much more looking at the entire game. But FFK had a good chance too equalize late on, but that would had been a bit harsh on Vålerenga. At last an away win for VIF. Also Fredrikstad were having a 3-win run in the league taking a halt against the Mights of Oslo.....

My team Brann seems to do well against the bigger clubs. Had draw earlier against Vålerenga. Wins against both Molde and Rosenborg. But unfortunately they lost in the last round. Bit of a nomansland for Brann and Vålerenga. Doesn´t look more than a theoretical chance for them salvaging a Europa-spot......
