It should be noted that this was Netherlands' 2nd XI and they were naturally over-run when Norway changed all their players in the second half. (Dutch reports indicated this happened before 2-0 and 3-0, though the statistics disagree)

Why give everyone a run? I mean really, you should know how good the players are, and you can run intersquad training if you're thinking an outsider has a chance at cracking your 11. I'd rather people just belted it out.

I guess coaches want to postpone the inevitable and keep everyone happy for as long as possible, but sooner or later you've got to get down to business.

It seems that Landsem is doing the exact opposite of what Sundhage is doing -- instead of using too few, she's using too many.

But I'd rather her do this now, than try it closer to the WWC. I trust her. The team has looked sloppy at times, but the results have been decent since she took over.

Stensland's out, apparently getting back surgery for a prolapsed disc. She hasn't played in eight weeks as it is. She's hopeful about the World Cup, and could even be back on the pitch by early April, but will miss playing for Lyon.

Go Thorsnes! Go Pedersen! (Go Pettersen (ok, golf, I know but good win for Suzann!))!

Does anyone know why Stensland, Klaveness, Lene M, Lene S, Wiik did not play (hopefully no serious injuries among them!)? Also, I noticed Siri Nordby listed in the Finland game, interesting!

    Indeed.

Stensland: back injury. Had surgery in February, feels healthy now and is listed in Lyon squad for CL final, but is unlikely to play. Expect she'll be in the squad and play the pre-WC friendlies.
Klaveness: torn achilles tendon. Unlikely to play, may be selected as joker for the late tournament.
Mykjåland: viral infection. Nothing serious and she played for Røa on the weekend.
    Storløkken: had exams.
Wiik: cruciate ligament tear. Definitely out of the World Cup.

I watched Pettersen's entire round. Her resolve was inspirational and breathtaking. You had the feeling she was in control the entire round, and what a beautiful finish.

Yep. We're missing 2. Seems like they will announce those 2 players at a later date. (This probably due to Wiik blowing her ACL and other injuries.)

First of all, how ya doin' Bonnie? Hanging in there I hope! Well, I'm getting over being ultra-bummed at Norway ungracefully bowing out early from WWC 2011. Actually they looked good against Australia but just couldn't get the goals a-going in! Some key injuries! Not their year! Still think of all the young talent that bodes well for the future - Pedersen, Haavi, Thorsnes, Herlovsen, Lene M. etc. Looking forward to Euros qualifying. Haavi is FAST, wow!

Although to be fair (hopeful?) Nordby retired every other year it seems.
