I know Fløya was looking at Sola, and now Rønning and Sola both are being pursued by Stabæk. Although I'm more curious as to what Mykjåland will be doing.

(And to top all of them, I'm dying to see where Stensland goes next year.)

Is Mykjaland not signed with Roa yet? I also read somewhere that Melissa Wiik and Siri Gronli weren't 100 percent that they would be going to Stabaek for next year? Wiik talked about the USA but what about Gronli? And who's Sola (I apologize if I dont know the nicknames)

Oh, sorry -- Sola is Solveig Gulbrandsen.

Wiik is in talks with an unnamed WPS team and had mentioned possibly leaving Asker/Stabæk, even if she stays in Toppserien. I know Lisa Marie Woods is also leaving the club and truthfully, Wiik hasn't been the same since Ranghild Gulbradnsen retired and Kaurin left for Potsdam at the end of 2007.

Mykjåland's contract is up for renewal, and she's mentioned in other articles that Olympique Lyonnais had contacted her earlier in the year and of course, she's listed as a Freedom 'international discovery' player on the WPS Web site ... She's like Wiik in that she hasn't made any firm decisions yet and is still mulling things over.

Oh, and no idea about Grønli.

Thanks for letting me know who Sola is :) Where is Woods going? She will be a big loss. Her and Klaveness were the best players on Asker this year every game I watched. I agree with Wiik. I am surprised by all this movement of player. I didn't think it was so common in Toppserien?

Crap. Woods hasn't left yet, but is being actively pursued by Klepp.

It looks like Sola and Rønning are a done deal for Asker-bæk, as Kolbotn says they won't be returning ... and reports say they're just waiting for the license to be approved before inking any deals.

And yeah, off seasons aren't nearly this active, but it seems almost everyone's contract is up at the moment.

I would love to see her go to OL, but do they need her? I mean, it seems like the coach has the team right where he wants them.

And if the OL deal falls through, I wonder if there's any other teams that have shown an interest in her? Maybe another Damall. team or perhaps a club in the Bundesliga?

While I enjoy Toppserien, I don't think she should return there.

Former Kolbotn IL players Solveig Gulbrandsen and Trine Rønning have signed 2-year contracts with Stabæk Fotball Kvinner (formerly known as Asker FK).

Also, Melissa Wiik has signed a new contract with the club as well meaning it looks like her talks with the new U.S. league didn't work out. She mentions that she was also in talks with Røa IL before signing the new contract.

Ingvild Stensland will be joining Olympique Lyonnais next season.

She will be reunited with former Norwegian national team GK, Bente Nordby, as well as former Kopparbergs/Goteborg teammate Lotta Schellin. I can't recall if Stensland and Dorte Dalum Jensen played together before (maybe for KIL) but she's there with OL as well.

Id been told much earlier that OL was not looking at obtaining another holding middie, so this comes as a bit of a surprise. Her other choices seemed to have been staying with K/G or going to Turbine Potsdam.

While I wait for Norway's full schedule to be released (next week or two, I presume) I found the following mentions of Sweden playing Norway on the Swedish FA site:

Jan 25 - Feb. 2: Swedish Camp in Spain (La Manga?), includes Norway match
    Aug. 19: Sweden hosts Norway

And of course, the Algarve Cup from Mar. 1-12 and the Euros from August 23-Sept. 10. I'll post a 2009 thread once Norway's full schedule is released.
