I'm guessing a 4-2-3-1 formation? -------------Green Jones---Jagielks--Lescott--Baines ---------Parker--Gerrard Walcott-----Ox-------Young ----------Carrol My guess
Would be a nice surprise for Oxlade-Chamberlain to start. He did play centrally in training quite a bit yesterday too.
Because he hasn't played in ages for England and is now the definite number 2. Hart will likely play second half possibly.
Well he still needs a bit of time on the pitch. Almost all nations will do the same with their number 2. Don't think it matters either way.
Pointless to start Hart, he's already number 1 and played throughout qualifying. Better to start Green and let him put some more distance between now and 2010.
I've read that Ashley Young will play behind Carroll.. so i'd imagine Ox and Walcott will be the wide players. I think that this formation could go well.. interestingly the quote yesterday about Hodgson telling players to get the ball out quickly was misinterpreted, Gerrard said, adding that Hodgson had already drilled into the players his three tenets: “We need to be difficult to beat, play at a high tempo and be better in possession.” http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...rard-thought-captaincy-was-gone-for-good.html
Nothing gets me more excited than an England match... Can't wait for tomorrow's match and the Euro's..
Neither.. I've just had a horrible start to the morning though.. eating my breakfast watching sky sports news and their predicted line up came up, I spat weetabix everywhere.. They had a team with Milner on the right and Downing on the left oop: Please let that be some sort of joke, how many more times will we have to see a player with no creativity on both wings when we have far better options
I kind of like the idea of Young, Ox, and Walcott all lining up behind a striker, with 2 mids behind them. In fact given our severe lack of depth in all positions, I would look forward to seeing how that works out (especially if Roy was clever enough to get them to interchange through the game). If on the other hand the paper I read is correct, and we have Milner and Downing on the wings, it would tell me that Roy is destined to make the same mistakes as his predecessor. It lacks any flair, and the predictability of the team will most likely be painful to watch.
The training footage posted by Man City has shown that to be complete crap, all the emphasis was on keeping possession and pressing as a unit. Not to say we'll suddenly play like Brazil 1970, but the longball stuff is the usual anti-Hodgson trolling by bitter Liverplop fans.
It's on ITV so it should be easy to get a good stream. Not sure if ITV are showing it on their website, you could proxy it if they only allow UK ips (like the BBC iplayer).
Thanks for the links.. I actually found a broadcast, though it will be in Spanish.. I will have to mute the volume, except for our goal celebrations..
Anyone aware of any links that will allow me to watch the game online? I have a bloody function to attend but will have access to the net.
