http://www.texasfutgol.com North Texas Alina Garciamendez is off to the 2011 FIFA World Cup with El Tri North Texas 3 ready to anchor the U.S. U17 World Cup Team Undefeated
the news is a little old but I didn't see any mention to it here. Andromeda has merged with ASG and is maintaining all the DA and pre-DA spots is owned as well as all spots in the classic league (I believe unless it was lost by a total team move of 75% or more to another club). FCD's own Dave Dir is assuming the Executive Director role at the new "Andromeda FC". http://www.asgfc.com/ASG_AFC_partner.htm http://andromedafc.com/partnership-asg The above two links are just the same press release. Below is from the Andro web site.
Correct me if I'm wrong but on checking the 36 player pool from which the 23 women now playing for the USA in the current world cup not a single one lists Texas as home state. Something very wrong with that stat.
Not suprising at all. The self proclaimed "elite" clubs are to blame. On the current USA's u15,u17 and u20 womens teams of over 90 total players three are from N.Texas....and two of those are goalkeepers.
I'm still shocked but with the amount of men's talent we have, it's too bad we aren't producing the same amount of talent for the USWNT
What mens talent..??fact is the USA has failed to produce a single outfield player who can play with any regularity for any of the worlds TOP clubs. Not one. 20-25 years ago the women had it all to themselves globally but not any more as the Germans,Brazilians,Japanese,French etc have caught up....and it's all down to this bs "elite" club, win at all costs when you're 11 mentality....fact is the USA just doesn't produce great players....
