So in a search for calm and control, I turned to FIFA '12 and fired up my United season. 20 minutes into my game: Rooney and Carrick both suffer season-ending injuries. I had to turn it off and I'm a ball of hybrid rage/nerves now.

    That was productive.

I also sincerely apologize to people on here and Facebook for my spamming of doom and gloom. Being the irrationally superstitious dumbass that I am, I spend way too much time hyperanalyzing omens that might or might not be relevant.

    I was bout to say.....

I've only played the final once in recent time, a 1-0 win with a Chicharito goal after Nani came on for Valencia in the 65-75 minute range.

Xavi: Man Utd offer was tempting for me

Barcelona midfielder Xavi admits he almost signed for Manchester United earlier in his career.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to take Xavi away from Barca as he struggled to find space in the first team.

"There was a long time when I genuinely thought about accepting United's offer and moving to Manchester," Xavi told the London Evening Standard.

"I needed a change of scenery and things were not going well for me at Barcelona. I have always felt a real attachment to English football and Manchester United would be my club in England.

"The truth was that for a long chunk of my career, when it looked like I was the successor to Pep Guardiola in midfield, I was made to feel like an outsider, a bad guy for taking over from the legendary captain.

"We are not good at handling change here. The new guy is sometimes looked at like the bad guy. What made the difference is that I'm as stubborn as a mule. I thought about going to United but I dug my heels in.

"I was obstinate and I said to myself 'I need to prove myself here'."

    Only if he had signed........

    Oh my god.

That would have been unbelievable. I wonder how early we're talking about, because Scholes and Xavi in front of Keano....

Sorry, I have to clean up my pants.

Dude, I woke up at around 6 am because I had a Chivas friend that texted me and said we signed Javi Hernandez. I immediatley went on manutd.com and there it was Javier Hernandez but did not pay attention to the details. I thought it was Xavi and I went apeshit 6 in the morning. I was was like wow Fergie and Gill , how you pull this off and how much was the purchase and we found a CM.

... then I read the news and picture of a baby face Mexican. Well it turned out well with Javi Hernandez anyways.

Is there an age restriction in the PL, La Liga, Serie A, and the CL? At what age can a player be selected for the first team?

I'm pretty sure it is 16 years old for the Premier League because of yet more UK regulations dealing with child labour. In other words you will still be waiting for a while to see Rhain Davis.

So I'm just looking at Ronaldo's stats for this season again...

    and I start chuckling.

    I mean, it's obscene.

It should be illegal to be that good.

EDIT: Oh and I hereby renounce my admiration for Barcelona.

    They're dead to me.

Had that once or twice over the past few days. Also some sort of error page where a bigsoccer logo would show up with a message beneath it. Can't remember exactly what it said.
