With MLS kicking off today and many of us fans of other leagues, I figured we could discuss other MLS teams and other leagues here, Galaxy Style

I'll be rooting for Ricketts, classy guy, 15 minutes to go before the season starts

Sebastien Le Toux with the first goal of the season 1-0 Vancouver.

I like to root for the expansion teams but seeing Jesse Marsch on the sidelines makes me thing differently

Well, Montreal with a rude awakening today...

Apparently Columbus looks horrible. Anyone surprised?

speaking of horrible, DC snatches a loss from the jaws of a draw as Sapong wins it late.

Just watched the Vancouver / Montreal highlights. Poor Ricketts - hung out to dry by his defense on the goals. Thought he should have done better on Le Toux's shot. He does make a fine save towards the end though - pushing a ball onto the post and out.

I went to the Rapids/Crew game today...not the best game by the Rapids but they really outclassed the Crew.

I may be in the minority but I enjoy watching the AFL, it reminds me so much of the early years of MLS, I hope they succeed.

and nice win by Everton against my floundering Spurs and what the heck happened to Fullham today

The Bolton - QPR match was fun to watch today. You could see the desperation of both teams trying to get points.

Was elated. Though the last 20 minutes took 5 years off my life. Can't believe we're two points behind that other team in Liverpool. Will make the derby even better.

had no idea Pete V was on chivas, how the mighty have fallen.

and I was very surprised Citeh lost to Swansea, I guess having Tevez anywhere near this team is a curse, the title definitely goes through Old Trafford now

I thought New York looked pitiful vs. Dallas.

They were horrible minus the last 20 minutes when Henry resorted to becoming a central playmaker. By the way, he is so talented, but his posturing at his teammates drives me absolutely nuts, and I'm not even a fan. I know Becks goes at refs, but the amount of times Henry would just pout over a teammates actions were boggling.

They did not improve enough, and they need a central playmaker badly. That DeRo trade looks even worse now.

FC Tokyo, 1-0 over Omiya Ardija to open J1 play. Weekend wasn't a total waste...

Portland/Union has turned into quite a game and the Union rookie keeper is having quite an adventure in the second half

And Portland keeping with the win - meaning the East won a total of 1 game against the West (cough Chivas cough).

Higher. Perhaps the best league in Asia, though K-League is not too far off. I would like to see FCT and LAG meet in a friendly.

True. They're a dreadful team. It's going to be a long year here in Jersey. That said, they'll also probably make the playoffs in the East.

oops, I should have called it the A-League (Australia) not the AFL which is the Australian Football (Rules) League, they show live games on Saturdays and Sunday on FSC at around 9pm pst.

OT: I also like that FSC is showing National Rugby League way more entertaining then Rugby Union.

and thanks Cloak and Hachiko for the replies on the J-League, I've caught a game here and there but never got into it because the time difference would throw me off.

From our time zone, if you are an insomniac like me, the J-League is for you.
