I think the difference between then and now is that there will be a rookie wage scale. That will mean Luck won't get that ridiculous contract with guaranteed money upfront, which will make it more appealing to play as soon as he's drafted to get out of that rookie contract as quickly as possible.

That said, I agree with you. I think a QB that sits his rookie year and learns from a vet (and a guaranteed 1st ballot HOF in this case) would help him tremendously as opposed to taking his lumps and sucking it out through his rookie mistakes.

Nope. Nothing helps a QB more than starting from the get go, elite top 5 QB's that is--especially a Qb that is unanimously projected as the best to come out since manning. Manning is not returning to indy.
