Next Philadelphia Union Kit

I know the season is not over yet but I am overfilling with curiosity. If I am not mistaking all MLS teams are on a two year jersey cycle therefore the Union is due a new jersey for the upcoming season. I thought a thread is in store for suggestions for what the next jersey should be, what about the current jersey you like, what don't you like, etc. etc. and perhaps maybe some of the more computer savy poster can actually make up their own designs on what the jersey should be.

I love our regular home pattern and hope they keep it with some minor tweeking. One huge thing that should be done is to have the Bimbo logo be more harmonious with the overall look -- the best way is to change the colors (make the red Bimbo navy blue) and especially get rid of the white background.

As for a secondary jersey, I'm among many who would like to see a light blue look. If they keep the white look, I'd like to see them splash more color on it -- different color sleeves or shorts or at least socks so it's not so monochromatic.

I would like to see the Bimbo logo more like this. Much less intrusive. And I actually don't mind this design either.

I am not crazy about the white away kits, it would be cool if they do an almost flamboyant color for the 3rd jersey like pink, fluorescent yellow, etc. (I am not even kidding). Perhaps a light blue 3rd jersey to pay homage to the SoBs. I like the home kit and my only complaint like everybody says to intergrate the Bimbo logo better.

I think that would be pretty cool as a third, just nothing to neon like Seattles 3rd

Again these are only off the top of my head, I am trying to find a good Addidas jersey template to make my own designs to show off. Thoughts?

I completely agree with the White tops/Blue shorts, but im not a fan of the all white.

I would looove a version similar to man city's solid baby blue kits, with some lighter yellow piping instead of white. the only thing is i dont trust addidas or the BIMBO logo for it to actually look good.

It would be pretty badass if another Philly based crest could be incorporated much like portland did with the 'rose city' kits.

I am not sure if I would like the all baby blue kit. It reminds me of the SoB's jersey at the River Cup. It was nice for the game but for the Union to wear for as a 2nd kit, I don't think it would work. I think the white makes it look classier.

Well the White Jersey will be around next year.... So assuming that has taken the place of the gold away jersey we will only be getting a new home jersey, and maybe an alternate to replace the Gold.

I hope the white stays as the third kit and we get a new second. The stupid authentic third kit doesn't fit most fans.

i hate liverpool BUT dam they have some nice jersey. i love the home jersey but it looks like crap with the BIMBO logo, either adjust the color scheme of the logo to match the jersey (ie blue and gold) or maybe we should go all black or all white like the 3rd jersey

Agreed. The white tampon behind our bimbo wordmark makes it look like they slapped on a bumper sticker. If they'd gone with this, it wouldn't ruin our jersey.

The teams shouldn't have to change anything to suit some sponsor.

I think they might want to wait another year before going to a white/powder blue alternate, what with 2013 being the 40th anniversery of the Philadelphia Atoms NASL championship, it would be a nice touch to have a quasi-throwback.

That's actually a pretty nice idea and an updated Atoms style sky blue top with the 2 white stripes going across the mid section would look pretty sharp. A couple months back I actually made up this jersey and now that the Atoms idea has been thrown out there I do see some similarities between the two terms of the white stripes across the chest.

Love this - if the Union don't use it, someone should make a knock-off crest (or the JF) and produce these anyway. That is a great design.

Of course, how would it look once bimbofied?

I would seriously better incorporate the BIMBO logo onto the mock-up and get that sent to the team as a suggestion along with an explanation of where the design came from. For them to see that and not immediately fall in love with it, they'd have to have some good reason.

Those designs look sick! Could somebody show me the template everybody is using so I can try making my own design.

I'd love to do that but I'd be worried that they'd see the design and dismiss it immediately due to fears that if they chose to go with any design even similar to this I'd be knocking on the door with a lawyer saying they stole my idea. But if enough people like it and want to back me on this then I will send it to the FO. Only problem is I'm not good with Photoshop or anything so if someone with those skills can take that design I did on paint and touch it up, slap a Bimbo logo on it, and make it look "real" to send to the FO that would be awesome.

I wouldn't be afraid of that - just include a letter clearly stating that if they'd like to use the design, you are giving ownership of it to them and are looking to get nothing out of it short of any promotional stuff they'd willingly give you


also, if you can design it so that it shoots FOR players, it would be appreciated
