When I was there my cousin certainly belted out you will never walk alone, and I like a child trapped in a 25 year olds body kept on singing a word or two...going into long pauses...looking around...breathing in the atmosphere...damn it is just too emotional.
Fcuk... I really wish you guys got to see a 4th goal and experience the amazing happen right in front of you. As sad as I am for us getting knocked out, I feel for all you traveling people for not getting to see us come back and win it. Still hope you had a great time regardless.
It was awesome. From scholesy's amazing generosity to just milling around anfield pregame and talking to the locals - incredible. I'll upload a few pics later after I get rid of this wicked wicked hangover.
Literally every local that I met at the game last night and learned I was from the states went out of their way to help me. Amazing folks.
Scousers hate yanks...!!!! Wait, I married 2 of them... I know you were hoping (like the rest of us for a win) but you'll have fond memories of your trip forever.
To expound on that. Liverpool and the fans would love to see a 'good' young up and coming American on the team. Where in the hell are they? A few years back there were a few promising ones, most at Fulham. Now all that we have are 2 aging goalkeepers and an aging mid-fielder that almost came good playing for Spurs. No, no, no, this is not a Dempsey discussion.... Sorry for the threadjack. Take it to the Random thread.
If I was only a bit older we could of made an excellence defense Jimmy Case and Phil Neal were fantastic, thanks for the tickets Scholsey. Two great games and a great dinner.
I searched online for a Jimmy Case autobiography but sadly he hasnt done one. They should team up and write one. As song the Liverpool players sang to a probably confused Roma team in the '84 final. Unofficially LFC's version of the Haka.
I froze up, couldnt stop grinning, and rocked in my chair when my girlfriend said she made me ice-cream cake for my birthday. I think I'd manage to somehow go catatonic while screaming if I ever made it to Anfield.
I've got some cool pics that I hope to get loaded up in the next few days - that flight back yesterday just wiped me out.
Got a bunch of fun shots from the Beatles tour - here's a pic of the Cavern Pub. (not sure why these are showing up sideways)
Prolly because, unfortunately it's not the real Cavern. Good for a bit of fun though. If you took the tour my cousin lives across from John Lennon's house, off Menlove Ave. Wish I still had my Cavern Club Membership card, had some fun times in there. I started going when it was a Trad Jazz club, to see such world renowned groups like the Merseyssippi Jazz Band The Silver "Beatles" used to do lunch time gigs back then.
