He was cut because he wasn't very good. Or they could just play in the lower leagues in England rather than the NASL and make a lot more money.
They could but they may want to actually play in the US in the Top tier league, even if it is the butt of many international jokes.Maybe these players playing in the states at nice new stadiums with TV coverage on top networks in the US can come to the NASL, especially if they attend NCAA univerities and use the NASL teams as a springboard to the MLS with only so many internationals slots available in the MLS. It appears that more players around the world are taking notice of the MLS, new stadiums and unless they are going to be a solid EPL club member find the MLS as a real choice now.
He may have not been very good to take an international slot but with the rebuilding of the CMNT he has a pro lcub be it the NASL, that does keep him in Canada in familar territory instead of aving to play oe sees is an different country with different culture in a d3 club. Keeps him very close to home for future training and roster call ups for the senior team
Speaking of USOC. I would love to see NBC pick it up and maybe do the a whip around show until the semifinals and finals. I doubt it will happen but it is a nice dream.
That would be sweet, but you and I know it's unlikely. I wonder if that new streaming coverage that we have to pay for to watch NASL games will include USOC games. Since we are paying it would be the right thing.
That is exactly why it is important that Canada has the NASL franchises. There are only limited international spots for everyteam and these typpe ofplayers who have not reached their prime yet may one day soon be very useful. Without the NASL clubs in Canada some Canadian players may never find out
I kind of disagree with you and the article. This is only year two of the franchise after they only played a half season last year. The only thing that is important is growing butts in the seats. If the won all the championships combined and only had 4,000 fans for the whole season, that's all people will look at. Getting their own stadium should be goal one and having a bump in last years average attendance.
http://www.nycosmos.com/article/uui...mp-in-dubai-uae-presented-by-emirates-airline Cosmos to have pre season in Dubai. Not sure how good the team they'll be playing are, but it must be decent competition given the fact that they are getting ready for a world cup in that area, and that there is plenty of money. Sounds like fun.
Well, having a World Cup in Qatar doesn't necessarily mean the UAE league is going to be good From what I'v seen, it's a decent league. The domestic players aren't that great, but there are some pretty good foreigners. Al-Ain is probably the biggest club, and they've got Asamoah Gyan.

Marcos Senna accepts the fans "Player Of The Year" award presented to him by the supporters himself. A class act all the way - a legendary player mixing in well for an evening with his fans! http://cosmossoccerfan.com/2014/02/23/cosmos-supporters-come-out-to-cheer-marcos-senna/
I am pretty sure USSF holds the rights for all the Open Cup games, so NASL would have to cut a deal with the USSF to show the games. Also GolTV holds the rights to the Final, I think for this year and next.
2014 is the final year for the GolTV rights. They bought 3 years worth that covered 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Some are streamed but that is usually a team or league thing. The USL-Pro teams typically have a stream. Some MLS teams do it. I don't remember if NASL teams did it last year. On very, very rare occasions games have been shown on local TV and I remember one non-final game on FSC back in 2012. Seattle v. Cal FC, I think.
Absolutely great video done by ONE World Sports here reliving the 2013 Cosmos season. Gave me goose bumps for almost the entire 30 minutes. Take some time out and watch it and get even more psyched for the 2014 season! http://cosmossoccerfan.com/2014/02/28/watch-2013-cosmos-rise-of-the-champions-here/
Good find, brings back good memories. It's been a long off season. BTW I enjoyed the site as well, good wrk.
Good Morning - just wanted to mention that there was an update this morning on the proposed stadium site - see my post about it here along with article sitting that: http://cosmossoccerfan.com/2014/03/03/belmont-stadium-decision-coming-soon/
