Nike can suggest color combinations, etc., but it is the USSF's call. If Nike told the USSF: "Hey, we know you told us you wanted one white shirt and one blue shirt, but we want to do a red shirt instead." The USSF would say: "You'll provide the shirts in the colors we asked for, or you can toss off and we'll go talk to Under Armor."
Not sure why you felt I needed the lesson, but this is true. In reality it is a collaborative process. I assume the VP of Global Football is reflecting USSF's views as well.
I was providing a lesson - just a statement that at the end of the day, it is the USSF's decision. certainly Nike can make suggestions, but they aren't the ones who approve what the uniforms for the US Team look like.
I'd like the hoops to remain a theme as our primary. They are different, iconic, and scream USA. If they keep them the same for the WC at the very least, I'd be ecstatic.
The Hoops have grown on me. But I am not sure if I want to be our look going forward. Regardless I will be joyous as all get out to buy the jersey and wear it proudly as our boys do work this summer.

Not sure about this jersey. The collar was supposed to be white according to the leaked info. Not sure if that shade blue suits the US at all either
ok I dont get why we have to take the Gold out of the crest, and as far as the jersey... yikes... It looks like a golf shirt. not a fan. not big on a collared kits anyway but at least have something on it other than the crest. make it look like an actual soccer kit. I would understand it if this was traditionally what we did (like England or something) but it isnt. Just looks like Nike being lazy. I guess it could be worse... could be a Warrior kit bringing us back to the 80's
I always thought the US crest looked cartoonish. The Centennial Crest was pure class. Not sure about the lighter blue either.
We should stay with the stripes as home jersey forever. If US soccer thinks thinks that new shirts every few years will generate MORE sales over the long run they are fools. What generates sales and re- sales over and over is a consistent Brand. BMW doesn't change the essence of how their cars look over the years. The stripes are our brand because they reflect USA in the stands and in your closet like nothing else. The stripes can be tweaked just like Argentinas vertical stripes are tweaked over the years. But they are recognizable no doubt

Personally I'd be ecstatic if they kept the Centennial crest and made the hoops the iconic USMNT jersey. But ultimately I'd rather see them be successful on-field. I couldn't care less what they wore if they made it past the round of 16 (or beyond.)
