The names of the winners are engraved on the center of the trophy... but it seems that it doesn't have a lot of room to grow. I haven't seen the page yet, i don't know if it is addressed on there.
Looks like enough for at least 15 more names, maybe 20 at most. Hard to tell, but yeah not a ton of space. Very cool design though.
it looks like there is at least room for 5-6 rows/circles of winners given the current font size, let's say 5 to be safe. assuming that each concentric row/circle diameter is shorter by one team/year/winner you'd get 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, or room for 45 years/winners ... which means the Shield would run out of space around 2041. you think this version of the shield will last until 2041?
It looks like there's room for 5 rings given the current font and spacing. The outer ring covers 11 seasons; if each subsequent ring fits one less season, then there's room for 45 seasons, which would last until 2040. Maybe it runs out sooner if the San Jose Earthquakes become a dynasty. Looks to me they could have been a little more efficient with the usage of space, but I guess that will be a problem for the supporters of the late 30's to deal with. Good job everybody--it looks great!
Hopefully the expansion team "Sporting New York City Cosmos in Queens Football Soccer Club" does not win to many S.S.
Would have made more sense to start the engraving around the center and expand outwards, but otherwise it looks cool.
Looks GREAT!! Was browsing through the photos section (http://supportersshield.org/the-photo/), are there any shots on the back view of the new shield?
