Folks, those roofs are not for protecting you from rain... They help make the place look good, they will possibly hold in noise and provide some shade, but the folks in the low row numbers on the north side will still need shades. Maybe, they might have PV installed on them too.
Well its not like (with the exception of today and a few other times a year) it really ever rains in San Jose....
But, they will. And hold in some of the light pollution. That would be cool. But, we may get a sponsor name up there instead.
I forgot about that, I think the lights are mounted on the underside of the roof Maybe the sponsor makes PV
nobody has posted the location of their new seats since november 15. I assume ticket sales are ongoing? Maybe most of the big soccer posters were longtime season ticket holders and therefore early in the process.
Just had my seat selection appointment yesterday. Was looking in Sec 111 (looked like close equivalent to where am now in 106). They had seats in the middle as low as row 8. Lowest aisle seats were at row 16. Went ahead and took Sec 111, though was pretty tempted to take advantage of the $300 bleacher seats in 120 and 121. Have kind of gotten used to the bleachers/standing during the games anyway, and may end up switching over there (if can convince self that will enjoy watching from behind the goal as much as or close to from the sideline).
Come on and join us in 120/121. The view from behind the goal is good, just a little harder to see the action at the far goal (but you'll get used to it.) In exchange, you'll save $200 per ticket per year and have more fun at the games.
Wow, kudos to so many of you who have gotten their seats reserved in the new stadium. I wish I could join you, but it's just not feasible for me to make it to many home games, much less all of them. I'll be doing games here and there. Can't wait for opening day - I will be there for sure.
This might be the first time I've ever agreed with you. The process has been completely bass-ackwards.
I figure it will make for one heck of a class action lawsuit if the Quakes don't deliver on their promises.
They want to sell out the stadium with season tickets, or get as close to that as possible. There will be plenty of time to go after the more casual fans and cash in on the excitement of the stadium as it is being built. Right now they are going after the hardcore fans and giving them first choice for seating. I don't have a problem with the method in general.
And, in fact, the flat map is misleading since it does not accurately convey the overhang location of the upper deck compared to the seats below.
If they can sell a lot of season tickets in advance, and apparently they are, it will make it easier to sign up sponsors. Just smart business on their part.
Any more info out there on which seats have been sold in various sections and which year season ticket holder they are at (5, 4, 3, 2, or one prior consecutive years of holding season tickets)? If anyone can give an update I am sure it will be useful/interesting to many.
You would need to talk to a ticket rep to get details, but, from the sound of it ticket sales have gone well. Since you are allowed to buy double what you currently have at Buck Shaw a lot of people are taking advantage of it. As far as what season ticket holder year they are on, I have a friend who became a STH in 2011 and he had a Dec. 6th choose date.
i got tickets on the south side, cause the lower rows on the north(teams) sides were pretty much gone. this past week.
