I really really really wish we could do "You will never walk alone", but that is next to impossible.

For those of you who don't know the song of which I speak here are the lyrics. If anybody can dig up an audio clip, it is really one of the most moving things you'll ever hear.

When you walk through a storm,
    Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm,
    There's a golden sky,
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
    Walk on through the wind,
    Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown..
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
    And you'll never walk alone...
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
    And you'll never walk alone...
    You'll never walk alone.

O come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant
O come ye, O come ye to Naperville
    Come and behold them
    They're the Kings of MLS
O come let us adore them
O come let us adore them
O come let us adore them FIRE !!!!

    Solid.

well then the arsenal supporters (though i hate to admit it) were very, very loud. because it sounded like the whole stadium was singing along.

i say we just take a tune everyone knows...something simple...and add simple words to it. i also like "come on baby light my fire". i'm sure we can think up something by the game on 9/7 at least...

There's no way we could get section 8 to sing a song with more than 6 words in it without non ultras and barnburners standing there with their thumbs up their ass. Coz is right, we have been having trouble with some of the fans getting "we love you fire we do," "fire, chicago fire," and "fire, fire, fire, fire go" but there is no way we should get rid of them. Regular section 8er's know these songs and can sing them right, it's the people that come into section 8 and barely sing the easy songs that won't attempt the harder ones. But the sad thing is, those songs aren't difficult at all. I just think we shouldn't change section 8 songs because of some people from Naperville that refuse to sing or sing them right.

OK, here's a rip of the chorus. About 300k.

Beware, this is an extremely fruity sample. Especially with the "lumberjacks" singing the counterpoint.

Pretty sure "Go West" is a Pet Shop Boys cover of The Village People. Not for nothin'...

Yeah, I tried to allude to that...I couldn't remember "village people" for some reason.

Eh, what secret? I heard Irish fans at Fado singing
this during the World Cup. Melody:"Those Were The Days"
    Only the Irish fans sang
Come on you boys in green. X2
Come on you boys; come on you boys in green.
    (repeat everything one more time)
and of couse they had another version:
Come on you boys in green.
Don't need that **** Roy Keane.....

I've been singing "God Bless America" to myself lately, but singing Fire instead of America. It's a song just about everyone knows so they could easily sing along. It's not a repeatable song, like the chants, but maybe could be done once a game or whatever.

the problem is, is that even out of the regular section 8ers, only a handful of us would want to try anything like this. I think even most of the regulars are content with just doing the stuff that we normally do.

We should only throw one or two news songs in and see how they take.

i would tend to agree, but i don't see that as a problem, just how these things are going to go along

we are a very young league and an even younger team... we will slowly develop more compicated songs/chants... we just have to keep trying and keeping things that work or seem to have promise

Just a side note, you should probably find a new rythm for "One more Fire, one more" because the people near me were saying "Let's go Fire, let's go!"

    How about this one:

Na zielonej trawie, zkopyta rusza Fire
Daja chlopcy czadu, speaker o tym gadu gadu.

A my ciekamy, a my ciekamy, na zdobycie bramy
    Ahhhhhh Let's Go Fire

    Chicago Fire! Go, go, go.
    Chicago Fire! Go, go, go,

    itd

I think a chant in polish would be great.

    hey

as long as there is someone nearby to hit me each time i screw up the rythm, i'm good

i should be able to pick up the words, and if not... i can mumble something that sounds like i said them

sounds cool to me, it might be a bit harder to do, but i can't say we shouldn't do one

It's alright by me, just as long as somebody translates. I do want to know what I'm saying, though. And anyway, I'm thinking of taking Polish as a 3rd language.

This one just crossed my mind the other day:

We're always making noise for Ante
We only want what's best for him
We're always making noise for Ante
Ante's whole future is as good as sealed

The last line could probably use some work, but it'll do for any player with a two-syllable name. Some of you will know where I lifted it from. Now, if we could just sign a player named Nigel...

    Later,
    COZ
