I-O-W-A= I oughtta went around or Idiots out wandering about. Both expressions I learned while briefly living in the Quad Cities. Davenport IA is a hot muggy s.o.b. in the summer time. Miles and miles of monocropped GMO corn is a bad thing from an ecological and human health perspective.
Idiots Out Walking Around. Of course Davenport is hot/muggy in the summertime - it's on the Mississippi.
Oh, there's nothing halfway About the Iowa way to treat you, When we treat you Which we may not do at all. There's an Iowa kind of special Chip-on-the-shoulder attitude. We've never been without. That we recall. We can be cold As our falling thermometers in December If you ask about our weather in July. And we're so by God stubborn We could stand touchin' noses For a week at a time And never see eye-to-eye. But what the heck, you're welcome, Join us at the picnic. You can eat your fill Of all the food you bring yourself. You really ought to give Iowa a try. Provided you are contrary, We can be cold As our falling thermometer in December If you ask about our weather in July. And we're so by God stubborn We can stand touchin' noses For a week at a time And never see eye-to-eye. But we'll give you our shirt And a back to go with it If your crops should happen to die. Farmer: So, what the heck, you're welcome, Glad to have you with us. Farmer and Wife: Even though we may not ever mention it again. Townspeople: You really ought to give Iowa Hawkeye Iowa Dubuque, Des Moines, Davenport, Marshalltown, Mason City, Keokuk, Ames, Clear lake Ought to give Iowa a try
Liverpool hope to submit plans for Anfield expansion in April and We won't be held to ransom on Anfield regeneration, vows Mayor Joe Anderson Seems like there's going to be some real progress over the next couple months.
I read you guys finally signed a contract with the city authorities and a housing company worth more than € 300m. Congratulations for that big step towards a new Anfield stadium. Now my question: are there already information about the capacity of the new Anfield Stadium? Thanks!
It's not all about seats, I'm also very much interested in the amount of business boxes. Those are hugely profitable.
I'm very interested in seeing if they are able to redevelop the area and make it a true gameday experience/venue - i.e. make people want to come eat, drink, play, etc. before and/after games. Many US teams have successfully done that here with new stadiums or refurbisment projects which have really helped upgrade neighborhoods and revitalize the surrounding areas.
Here you go - presuming this happens - I am liking it so far: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-new-stadium-pictures-150m-3447010
54K is the number according to official site. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/161747-lfc-reveal-stadium-expansion-vision
That's the first phase - the 2nd phase on the anfield road end adds in about another 5K seats - thus nearly 59K.
Would be interested to see these plans overlain over the footprint of the existing stand and how they plan on doing the upgrades during the season. Doesn't seem like to the overall footprint extends towards Lothair by all that much, so while some of the shell may be able to be constructed around the existing stand, majority of the construction will have to occur in the off season or the Main will have to be closed. But that seems a price worth paying for what the end product will be.
Looks like it will leave the HJC shop in place too and the cafe that does a bloody good bacon sarnie.
Looks like The Kop remains mostly untouched. And with The Albert remaining, the only question left is to try and figure out where to best swarm the bus.
"Putting on my work hat" Since the top part is symmetrical, the red band at the bottom grates on me, its not centred, nor does it go across the whole base, nor is it in proportion along its length. Apart from that its not a bad design that respects what's already there.
Re the red band: totally agree. It's a distraction from an otherwise calm and classy exterior. Maybe it's Warrior trying to make its mark. Lol
