Given that we can't re-write history, you can be as sure as you want but just realize that's just an opinion floating in the wind and can't ever be verified. Can't be tested. It would be just as valid to say that if Chivas had never come to Carson some people would never even have deigned to look at MLS, realize LAG was pure class, and become Galaxy fans. It's not that I necessarily believe that, but as long as we are throwing around untestable opinions, there's another one to chew on in your spare time.
It's taken eight seasons for them to clearly reference themselves as an LA team. And again, Jorge Vergara isn't doing so well with the Mexican outfit and even CD Saprissa have had a bit of a barren spell in the last few Costa Rican tournaments.
