One thing I'd like to remind people. We've had these types of threads for years. Type out what you want. Bring a couple of copies to the supporter's tailgates. Find people, share them. Posting here does nothing for this.

I see no reason why player songs can't be individual derisive songs about opponents. Given that:

    We saw that goal,
    We want more, more, more

    Riders/Rebels yell,
    We want more, more, more

instead of "I believe that we will win!" how about "I believe in Mr. Nguyen!"

I should probably keep my mouth shut... and I don't know what brought me to big soccer today but we all know I won't keep my mouth shut.

I stopped doing the capo stand because it became insanely frustrating. The Rebellion was insanely frustrating. There 34592854 drums in the front of their section and no one would play the same thing or if they were they couldn't keep time. Everyone wanted to be the leader and no one was. I also found them unwilling to put effort in learning songs, or doing songs that weren't originated by the capo or in their section.

When I was up there I paid attention to all the sections and what was going on. I looked and listened for the organic chants, new or old, started elsewhere and tried to help get the entire section going on them. The Rebellion capos don't do this, and seem unwilling to let chants start organically, and almost frustrated when something starts up on its own without their help.

Then there are the people who don't sing.... leaders from both group deny that it's their members... but when you are up on that stand you see it all... and it is members of all 3 groups, active members of all three groups. Underparticipation was also extremely frustrating.

I believe that the formation of The Rebellion and the split of the fort into 2 sections was the worst thing to happen to the fort. I think it was better before. The stubbornness of the fort and the Rebellion has led the act of being a supporter to be a lot less enjoyable for myself and many other RevArmy members. That is why you often see us standing at the top of the fort instead of in it. It feels like we are fighting a losing battle against morons. I'd like things to change but i'm out of ideas and growing less interested.

The fort sucks and people need to accept that, our ownership may be falling behind, but we as supporters are falling way behind too and we need to stop letting our pride and stubbornness get in the way.

The fort should be moved or reorganized. Also, I'd rather smaller numbers of actually singers than many quiet none participants. The core from the three groups should be together

I agree, the drummers in the fort don't sound like they've ever taken a drum lesson or even played a drum. When we chant Reh-v0-lu-shun, they come in, after that about a half a beat late and not together. The further away from them you are, the more out-of-time it sounds. They don't understand how to subdivide the tempo in their heads so they are ready to execute the ictus on time and together. So it comes across like this: Reh-v0-lu-shun . Flub blub, scrub blub flub... and as this cross tempo repeats, the problem compounds drags the tempo down.

The rhythm of my heart is beating like a drum,
with the words "I love you" rolling off my tongue,
oh, never will I roam, for New England is my home
where the ocean meets the sky I'll be sailing

The rest of the boys in the RevArmy call this one of Beau's "B" sides.

    Heaven:

If Heaven ain't alot like Boston
    I don't wanna go
If Heaven ain't alot like Boston
    I'd assume stay home
If they ain't got the Revs like up in the B
Then send me to hell or New York City
it'd be about the same to me
it'd be about the same to me

I'd suggest stopping it at the 37 second mark but your tastes may differ.

    Thanks,
    Beau

In the sad but true department, you can't completely dismiss this as humor and not reality.

I think this has been mentioned before, but deserves a bump.

I agree and this was the case when I stopped going to games a few years ago. Nothing has changed.
Absolutely. Supporters need to have a real passion for the club they are supporting to have a decent section. Let me ask you this, how many Fort regulars or semi-regulars do you think have left the Revs over the last five years? Now how many do you think have left the Sounders or Timbers? The Fort can't keep enough of it's supporters and can't attract new ones at a decent enough rate to keep up. So you end up with a bunch of youth teams and other casuals just standing in the middle if the Fort making no noise, while a large number of remaining active Fort regulars don't have much passion to step things up, leaving them with a disorganized group using the same lame songs over and over.
I have not been in the Fort in at least 5 years for a Revs game but from the sounds of it, nothing has changed since then.

Things I was trying to make happen today:

Drinking Pabst in the hot sun
you fought the Revs and the Revs won
You fought the Revs and the Revs won
You needed goals and you got none (or one or some)
You fought the Revs and the Revs won
You fought the Revs and the Revs Won

    And:

And it's one two three four five
    Revs are working overtime
Trying to crush the boys wearing blue and Lime
And it's one two three four five...

Maybe the second needs some work.

    Thanks

Add Mullins to the list of players who need a song.

    Here's what I've got:
Teal Bunbury (I'm a fan of "Not blue, not green, our goal-scoring machine: He's Teal, He's Teal")
    Andrew Farrell
Lee Nguyen ("Sing when we're Nguyening" is my favorite)
    Patrick Mullins
    AJ Soares

"He's Teal" is perfect. Has this been sung in The Fort yet? I haven't been to a game in a while.

Can we steal this one for Andy Dorman? He's been a beast this year.
