I was hesitant to bring this up but I told Rocky Harris and the FO over lunch back in the '09 season, as our FO was celebrating the Hurricane team of '79 that did well. It was the idea to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of our city's first playoff contender with a throwback jersey like you speak of Beavis. So here we are a few seasons later and I am certain something in all Black with Orange trim will indeed be a big sales earner for the club, err franchise, err I donna what AEG thinks of us in Houston sometimes. Sigh.
Re: New 3rd Jersey coming next season. I always wondered why the Dynamo are allowed to wear orange at Dallas. Any other league the refs would not allow either the orange (conflict with red) or the white (on both unis) I know the shade is yellowish but still... If a team is red and white and the other orange and white, the away team theoretically has to use a color that is not similar to any of the home team colors. Here the black or light (not too light) blue would make some sense.
Re: New 3rd Jersey coming next season. I'd like to see either a yellow and orange kit, or even better-- a black kit. But, as an earlier poster mentioned, the black kit would be hell in the summer.
Re: New 3rd Jersey coming next season. We all know the 3rd kit is hell in the summer, so why not only wear it away in cold temps and here at home early in the season? Then switch to white whenever needed. I mean....it's a third kit! Not one of our two main ones anyway! Not to mention only seeing it 4 or 5 times a season would be cool all on its own.
Re: New 3rd Jersey coming next season. MLS seems to have totally dropped the old standard light/dark requirement. If its not the same exact pantene color your good to go.
Re: New 3rd Jersey coming next season. Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha tru dat!!! I was talking about the international approach to kit/uniform conflict. It's not about dark/light but proximity of hues (red/orange or blue/green). Then again that approach wasn't used in the old days and maybe it's an excuse to have a 3rd jersey market after all.

I heard a rumor back when the Dynamo played Portland at home, that came from the Dynamo PR dept ...a 3rd kit will come out and it's going to be a darker shade of Orange. I think I reported that awhile back but then again no one see's my post since I'm on 90% of y'alls ignoir list I'm all about a Space City Blue kit, I have a long sleve Blue Dynamo jersey and when I wear it my boyz in EB call me PAPA SMURF. bwahaha pinche mamons! Wouldn't spend a nickel on a Dark orange kit.

I'm all for the Space City Blue but the league might trip since they allowed Sporting to use the light blue, which makes what? 4 Clubs with the lighter Carolina style blue.. Houston,Sporting KC,Chicago Fire 3rd kit, and Colorado.

Re: New 3rd Jersey coming next season. Nope - Only SKC uses light blue, with a combo of either light blue tops & shorts or dark blue shorts. Chicago canned the municipal flag alternate after the league-wide Adidas conversion and Colorado canned the sky blue secondary's in favor of a white road jersey with burgundy shorts. The Dynamo could rock light blue and still look uniquely apart from SKC by using last year's leaked Space City Blue concept 3rd shirt we saw on the MLS iPhone App with the current home shorts and new light blue socks.
