New 3rd Jersey Has Arrived

Reading Canetti's reasoning, I understand the orange thing. I'd rather they'd have done a NASL throwback jersey instead.

I do like no collar. IIRC, the regular jersey is due for an update next year. And Greenstar is in thru 2013 with 2 year option.

It kind of is a throwback kit in a sense. Here's our own Glenn Davis going in on a dirty tackle in the old Dynamos kit.

Correct. The team should get new primary and secondary shirts in 2013. And the Greenstar deal has options for 2014-1015.

I'm curious. Is there anyone that still hates it? That's a great looking uniform.

Btw, can someone let Canetti know on twitter that 3rd kits are traditionally for regional tournaments and cup games. #noobies

That's why we're all hoping this is the kit we use in the CCL and USOC. It isn't unheard of to introduce a third kit during a league game then just use it for cup games. Barcelona and Pachuca come to mind as teams that have done this in the past.

I'm cracking up. It really does look like a Weinerschnitzel employee. And I love Weinerschnitzel! IMO the hot dog is our most under-appreciated fast food item!

I absolutely hated them at first but now I find myself hating them less and less....

funny you should say that-I hated it at first, well maybe not hated, but was disappointed (thought they could have done better with the first try) but it's now growing on me.

Nope, still don't like them to be worn in our one game this season versus Dallas.
If a player, I would want to take the field at our new home for the biggest fixture of the year in our traditional gear and save this entire new kit experience for the Valencia game.

that sounds like some damage control to me, it was always said they would unvail them during the Dallas match.

I don't remember black shorts in a CONCACAF game. We did wear them a few times in 2006 with the white shirts.

I'm almost positive we wore black shorts with orange jerseys once. I don't think it was a league game but don't remember if it was a CONCACAF game or what.

Call it what you will but after all the planned build up starting months ago to the home Dallas game, the switch of plans sends an odd message jack.
Look, our FO announced back in the Winter that the secret 3rd jersey was to be first used when our guys play FCD. This has now been moved up to when our guys play LAG.
There have been several folks on this thread questioning the red-orange look to be used when we play our main rival, whose normal kit is all red.
Then, Geoff Cameron publicly came out at said he was not a big fan of having to wear the new 3rds.
Perhaps this has changed for him and the guys towards the kits or perhaps Ching and the guys made some suggestion about moving the usage of the new 3rds to another date rather than the Dallas fixture.
Or, perhaps with the feedback from our boards, cuz we know CC has a personal bigsoccer mule that lurks here and reports back the input and discussion we have here, the damage control is indeed in need and thus the FO hears their own players, hears the feedback from here, gets other feedback from other sources. Thus, the other AEG owned team is now the opponent our team will use to trotter out to the field in all blood-orange.

D'oh. I remembered a lot of things about that game but I forgot about the black shorts.

Actually our guys used the black shorts several times in our first season. At home in a win over RSL in April of 2006 and on the road like here:
