Seems like the Greek league is the only place where he has had any success within the past 5yrs or so. Maybe it's time to take a trip back "home"

Saw a replay of his goal against Brazil a couple days ago. A true moment of brilliance. If only we'd known that was going to be the THE moment with Nery.

 

Nery will win a World Cup with Mexico.... as a manager. You can quote me.

 

It seemed just like yesterday that he won that UEFA Cup with Shakhtar Donetsk.

 

Dude was soooo much drama but was worth it just for those couple of matches in Venezuela

The Vela saga almost makes you forget the drama back when it wasn't sure if he was going to play for us or Uruguay/Greece

 

Nery as a coach might be pretty good.

This guys career is a sad story.

 

The only time he shined was in Greece, which is not a great league. Maybe he was never as good as we thought he was?

 

He had potential just never really developed in to it for many reasons, in 2007 dude was 23 with what it seemed a bright futere ahead of him, fast forward 6/7 years dude is almost 30 and nothing happened with him, not the first nor the last of the players that never fullfilled their potential.

 

I think part of that was pride and his personality which instead of growing caused him to stagnate

 

He has to be injured. Is there no news on him at all?

There were flashes that made you believe he belonged in the top Euro leagues. Years later we find out he wasn't good enough for the MLS or the Mexican league. I don't think anybody expected that.
