Hey I'm updating my soccer database with players vital information. Like to have the data to be complete but also helps with the stats in figuring out age/height/nationally based projects In terms of players who played in US based leagues I currently got almost 3200 players in total (70,000+ overall) although for the following players I have statistical data but no vital information. I've googled and wiki (USL pro must have someone doing Wiki as almost all players are on there). So if anyone can help that be great. I'm looking for basic data such as Birth Date - Nationality - Height - Weight - Position. (names also might bring up some old stories ) These are the players and the US Based team he started his career with according to my DB Joe Barton - Atlanta - 2004 Jordy Broder - Atlanta - 2004 Rafique Hassim - Jose Romero Coreas - Charleston - 2007 Gregory Smith - Charleston - 2006 I don't see either of those players on the Battery Player register http://www.charlestonbattery.com/history_pregister.asp maybe they played on trial during the Carolina Challenge Cup but I don't remember either one. Mikey
Ya i saw that link and it cleaned up charleston info well. According to my stats Gregory Smith played 3 games for 44 minutes during the 2006 season and Coreas played 11 games in 2007 - 384 minutes Both never played anywhere else pro/semi-pro which i assume is the case with most guys on the list (cups of coffee guys)
"John Rodrigues" is a Guyana international, more commonly known as J.P. Rodrigues (who is probably already in your database). There is no Eddie Ustruck; that's probably the result of someone getting Erik Ustruck's first name wrong. Jeff Richey was a goalkeeper, born Feb. 6, 1978. He represented the US at the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup. He is now an assistant coach at DePaul University. Here's Chad Bartlome, currently in Switzerland: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/chad-bartlome/profil/spieler_56290.html Cuauhtemoc Suarez is same person as Temoc Suarez who began his career with the Dallas Burn in 1997. Joe Barton is a goalkeeper and was actually the LA Galaxy's third keeper in 2003. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Barton_(soccer) Thomas Queeley usually went by his middle name, so you should have him already listed as John Queeley. A match report showing that they are the same person: http://www.uslsoccer.com/stats/2007/385671.html I actually remember Casey Schmidt pretty well, because he scored practically at will during preseason, including a few jaw-dropping goals, and I thought he would be a strong candidate for Rookie of the Year. He retired midway through his first season in MLS to take a job at the United Nations. Here's his college bio: http://www.bceagles.com/sports/m-soccer/mtt/schmidt_casey00.html
One more duplicate: Carlos Mendez is simply a misspelling of the Carlos Mendes who currently plays for the Columbus Crew. A bunch of other names sound very familiar to me, because many of them played pro indoor soccer when I followed that. Chris Handsor: Canadian utility player born Jan. 14, 1972. Listed as 6'1", 185 lbs as of 2000-01, when he was MISL playoff MVP. Was used all across the defense and midfield earlier in his career, and was converted to a target forward later on.
