    Re: Christians on Dynamo?

I respect your belief in Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior. Thank you for taking time out of your day to try and show me the error of my ways. While your post may not convince me otherwise I strongly respect your strength in your belief system. If the day ever comes that I change my way of thought you will be recalled as one of the few that attempted to show me the light earlier. This may come off as sarcastic but I am being honest, and I am humbled by anybody that cares enough to try and save me. Thanks.

It all depends on what kind of Christianity we talk about.

Catholicism. Orthodox. Baptist. Southern Baptist. Methodist. Lutheran. Anglicanism. Evangelical. Etc.

    Different Bibles. Different interpretations.

Catholics tend to believe in helping the poor. Radical Evangelicals (apparently) believe the poor are terrible people that deserve all the suffering. Quite a difference between Christians...

Radical Evangelicals' really hard stances that IMHO differ greatly from Christ's life lessons is what has created the anti-Christian environment of today IMHO.

BTW there IS a non-religious "Church" in Houston. Freethought... and no, it's not angry youths but mostly old scientists, engineers, nerds, NASA fans, and former religious people.

Carry on. In the end you believe in what you believe.

I believe... Dynamo has a shot against the Galaxy. (Whatever) God (is up there) help them! :D

And Mormons believe that being black is a punishment from God (mark of Cain).
Uhh, nevermind, I forgot that in 1978 they had a revelation and God told them that being black is fine.

Can we open a thread asking about LGBT players in FC Dallas?

Normally I just come here for stats on the business side of soccer in the US but this thread has me interested.
Now prayer and religion do have a place in soccer. I prayed to my pastafarian god everyday that Seattle Sounders would not make the MLS cup because we all know they would be insufferable(though they already are kinda) if they won. See proof prayer works.
On a side note, I am in the US Army and I have to put up mindless religion dogma constantly from my bosses which drives me crazy. As for this is what this religion stands for etc. They stand for what the individual who is the most influential in the religion is at that time not for any standard belief structure. All the major religions have changed dogma, beliefs, and core actions throughout the span of history. It is just another means of control like Garber. Maybe he is a god? Not so sure my religion is working though since I keep praying for Pro Reg in MLS also though. Now if we could only convince them to tithe to the US Open Cup to put some real money in that tourny.

Personally I think religion should be keep out of sports etc. What would happen if INSERT FAMOUS STAR HERE would thank Satan after every goal, touchdown or homerun? He also brings up how Satan has helped him be a better player in every interview. The other side of the tracks would be screaming bloody murder and planning their boycotts. I for one would buy his jersey just for the fun of it. I personally just think it is arrogrant to assume if there is a god he even thinks or cares about you. The odds that we are the intelligent life he created in his imagine is pretty slim at best.

If they don't have a thread already up asking about that, I'll be surprised. I'm sure the FC Dallas fans would LOVE to know...

I don't think they'd personally mention Satan... I think they'd just reference meetings at the crossroads... which consequently happens from time to time... "I was at a crossroad in my career..." hahaha.

    Re: Christians on Dynamo?

Well stated (not just the quoted part). I believe almost the exact opposite and that if you want to see what a human being is like you have to look to dictators and other situations where people have near autonomy and nobody or almost nobody to answer to. In those cases more often than not the evil that is inherent in each person comes to light. Laws, social pressures, and religions all curtail this, but the more freedom from oversight an individual has the more the evil comes out.

Same people that say "Religion should be allowed everywhere"
Go crazy because kids listen to music from a guy that wears make-up (just like everybody in Hollywood) and a white contact lens.

So Sunday I found a place of worship in Hollywood proper to attend before the game.

There was an announcement upon entering that the communion bread was available in a gluten-free option upon request.

    LOL. Only in LA.
