Commanding lead for Blue Cross going into their home leg this weekend. A derby in a two leg Cup Final would be cool to witness.
So on Cruz Azul's second goal, wasn't Oswaldo Sanchez so busy arguing for a handball he didn't bother to try to stop the goal? That's just dumb. He also got a yellow for it.
So why hasn't anybody posted about the game last night? So much to talk about, América's 2 goals in the last minutes to send the game to extra time, Cruz Azul's disaster at penalties, and Herrera's Chris Farley impression during the penalties (I wish I could imbed the video but I can't on the mobile version, but go here to see it http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/05/watch-club-america-coach-celebrate-title-win-with-unbridled-joy/). The game itself, though played with lots of passion, seemed a little off to me somehow. On that huge field, it looked a lot of the time like there were just little groups of guys playing separate games. It's hard to describe, maybe it was the rain, but it just seemed to lack any kind of flow or organization.
I really didn't care who won. It was an amazing game. I was recently at Estadio Azul to celebrate the 14th anniversary of Pachuca winning it's first championship. Considering Pachuca has beaten them both in finals, I really didn't have any animosity towards any of them. Dynamo has also already beaten America and hasn't faced Blue Cross.
The straight red in the 14' put a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't enjoy the match until the 88' and then it was an epic. Good on CA. Great effort.
There's some games that I have to watch for the show. Theres others that I watch just for fun. Atl. Mineiro vs. Xolos just started.
WOW!!! Xolos just had a PK saved in the 93rd minute that would have given them a Copa Libertadores semi-final berth. the save was a desperation kick-save by the GK.
The PK that Toledo awarded to Nigeria, and the straight red was an incorrect call in my opinion. It changed the game drastically. It was an entertaining match though. We were having a big party at the house for my son who graduates HS today, and having the Mexico game on really makes me realize how beloved that team is. People from all ages were very interested in every detail of the match.
2013 Apertura starts July 19th. I'll be bringing back coverage of Liga MX to both my site (www.ordinaryorangefan.com) and Dynamo Theory. Here's an intro to the Apertura with the changes to the teams that occured last month. http://www.ordinaryorangefan.com/2013/06/liga-mx-apertura-2013-set-to-kick-off.html Hoping to have a team by team preview up soon similar to what I did last year on DT and a Copa MX post. All the DT posts will be placed in the "Ordinary Orange Fan Talks Mexican" section. Additionally, I contribute to Soccer Mexicana specifically covering Pumas. If you've never visiting the site, it's English language and the creator Jason is looking to expand where he has a blogger for each of the Mexican clubs. Definitely a cool idea so whatever team you're a fan of you can go there and check out the blogs. Soccer Mexicana Liga MX Blogs Link Soccer Mexicana Pumas Blog Link - Great Goya (where I contribute) Definitely appreciate everyone who checks out the sites above and spreads the word. Thanks!
I hate the numbering and letter but the damn jersey itself is pimp. Gonna need to get an autographed by the new team for the collection.
