As enrollment population fluctuates, so does the division. Each year is different. You are correct that it matters very little when playing your arch rival.

There are two religions at CVCA. One is Christianity.

There are a good number of sports besides baseball that operate without a clock being used to determine the exact end of competition ... e.g., tennis, golf, volleyball, swimming, running, gymnastics. I've spent lots of time in Ireland ... there time is a relative thing, e.g., if you are to meet someone at a pub at 6, that might be 6:30 or 7 or whenever ... just relax and enjoy the Guinness. I love it that soccer doesn't have to end the very second a clock ticks one more tick, but instead that soccer allows for the ref to adjust the time due to the situation at hand during extra time, e.g., a player wasting time pretending to be injured, a goalkeeper wasting time before taking a goal kick, a player walking as slow as possible off the pitch when being substituted for, etc. If teams want to play that game and try to waste time, then they should also know that the ref can take that into account. Most of life does not revolve around the tick of a single second. Soccer doesn't always have to either, and it's great that it doesn't.
