WOW. San Diego saves a header off the line from a corner with four seconds left and continue their magical run. The next leg of the journey brings them to D.C. for a date with Georgetown next Saturday.

Wow. Crazy corner with 5 secs left in Tulsa-SD game. SD advances, 2-1.

They hold on. Tulsa put it near the line with less than 10 seconds to go, but SD cleared it away.

The WCC does it again. Between St Mary's last year and San Diego this year, that's six away wins in the last two years, more than any other conference. And they did it without getting any non-automatic bids.

And for the second straight year, UNC and former coach Bolowich are a round away from meeting in the NCAAs. It's gonna be more difficult to get there than last year, though. Creighton has to go to UConn and UNC hosts Indiana. If today was indication, UNC's home unbeaten streak is in trouble.

UNC's student newspaper tweeted that the game with Indiana will be on Friday. No time given or conformation from the official men's soccer Twitter account

The UNC match has to be on Friday, I think. Quarterfinal weekend has a Friday night match, Saturday afternoon and evening/night, and Sunday afternoon.

No way the NCAA is going to make San Diego come home and then fly back across the country to take on Georgetown... right?

They have to. Without a previously applied for special waiver, teams can't leave on a road trip more than 48 hours before a game.

Home to SD tomorrow. Sleep in their beds a couple of nights before heading off again! Plus they've got class. Game's on Saturday at 1pm ET.

USD might then be making two more cross-country flights. If they were to somehow win at Georgetown, I can't imagine they would be staying for over a week on the east coast until the College Cup.

It would save money if Georgetown came out west - and quite frankly, USD has now earned the right to host a tournament game :notworthy: . So much for keeping travel costs down.

They're on the west coast. Georgetown is much closer to Hoover, Alabama than USD is.

At some point the exhaustion factor must kick in, but they are young. At least the first two away games (Northridge and UCLA) were pretty local.

Please explain how would it save money for Georgetown to come west. (I'd love that, but actually I believe USD can't host because they are hosting the Women's College Cup.)

Yes, USD could not host this coming weekend due to the women's College Cup. Also, to those saying that USD should get to host -- don't you think they should have earned it in the regular season, then? Tough travel is what comes with being an underdog, sometimes.

It would save money because regardless of the result, Georgetown will only have to make one cross-country flight. Simple as that.

    How have they earned it?

They're a great story and they deserve to be in the Elite Eight. But they have advanced to play a Top Four seed and said seed earned their seeding by being better the entire season. San Diego is going where they belong.

Louisville needs to get Mares back on the field. They were bossing the game until he subbed off and have been struggling since.

Edit: Ha! Moments after I posted this, Mares came back on. :)

They earned it by winning the first three games on the road, taking out the # 11 and #6 seeds in the process. I guess it's as much a sentimental plea as it is one of dollars and cents.

Whoops! Own goal by Northwestern. Mares took a shot that was headed wide, and a Wildcat defender stuck a foot out and knocked it in. 3:00 to go.
