I already did. NASL was at 7 teams at the time because PR left and Minnesota at the time was on the way out as well, so they made us start in 2013 because no league with less than 8 teams can be sanctioned by FIFA. The Cosmos would have started 2014 had this not been the case. That's why we played half a season; because it was not possible to be ready for the beginning of the Spring. Why else do you think NASL temporarily lost their sanctioning during the last offseason?
USSF not FIFA. And NASL could have asked for a 1 year waiver, but yes NASL probably did put pressure on the Cosmost to come in early. But I doubt the USSF would have unsanctioned the league with out them coming in half way into the season.
Nothing funny or cool about this. If Silverbacks go away, that is not a good thing for NASL or the Cosmos pipe dream of world soccer domination.
Are you familer with the concept of the "Rivarlies" Thread? Its a place to take a piss, make fun of and be a general c*nt to each other.
You keep asking if " you are familiar with the concept of a rivalries thread". Yet you are the one is not understanding it. If ATL closes then that raises the risk of NASL going away. Also rivalries are build on the pitch not in the boardroom. But hey you want to gloat on something that takes away from the league go ahead. I personally will be gloating about how the Cosmos will fail to repeat as champions this year. Not saying San Antonio will win, but I am positive with the league much deeper that the Cosmos will not!
I already polished off spots in the huge trophy case for a Spring Shield, Fall Shield, Soccer Bowl and USOC this year. The only way we don't win silverware this year is if we forget the game is 11 v 11 and send out 10 instead..and it will still go to the final week of the season.
You should concentrate on showing up for the first match of the season .... baby steps. The actual season does start in a few days. There's more to it than just the Fall. Of course, you'll be polishing at minimum one of those spots for quite a while ... likely 3 of them.
At least we are consistent! The good news is typically they rebound well after the loss and go on a good run. But really the next two weeks are the spring season for the Scorpions.
No... Just emphasizing that yesterday SA had another chance to end the streak and blew it... Again... But hey the kits sure looked nice.
So much for the Wisdom of Wynalda. “Even though we have played them recently, I think we’re both still feeling each other out. During the last few games, both teams changed up their gameplans, so it’ll be interesting to see how they come out. We’re definitely just going to stick to our gameplan.” http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/meodfdmr76671knxb6en7j5xj/wynaldas-wisdom-on-eve-of-kickoff
I know, I know... The 26th can't get here fast enough... Hopefully by then you'll be in some type of rivalry form.
I'll tell you what's not impressive... That suit Wynalda's wearing. I would expect a Fox contributor to not buy off the rack.
Already 6th in the West so Hachiko has to slum somewhere else ... awesome. ... well, at least we aren't Ottawa ... losing their first game ever in the NASL to the worst team from last year. Good job guys !
http://www.empireofsoccer.com/wynalda-impressed-cosmos-24930/ I don't know what game Wynalda was watching last night, taking a net full of goals back to da ATL and he "wasn't impressed ". saying they actually made the Cosmos look better than they are. I'm sure ATL will make every team look better than they are.
