<---- like that ? Or setting up things like these ? They just played against South Korea here in January. If it were as easy as just doing it, it'd be done. How many other NASL clubs have an HD broadcast ? How many have had a game broadcast in HD on the actual local network (as in, it was actually on KSAT12 and not the national programming) ? Hardly anyone watches all of these pre-season tournaments for the MLS ... why the shit would the take on that cost when they won't get 1/3 of the pidly shit streamers that the Desert Diamond Cup gets ? Of course, it'd help if you knew what the blue shit you were talking about. Liga MX's Clausura begins in early January ... just saying. That's easily being done. You're a bit behind the curve guy ....

Union's Hackworth: Outside offers, league rule may nix Fred signing - MLSsoccer.com This might seem like MLS news (and it is) but at the same time this article states something pretty interesting... "Considering Fred has been with the Union throughout the preseason and has remained with the club through the start of the regular season, it may seem odd that Minnesota United FC – a North American Soccer League club – has swooped in to make a play at the Brazilian."
LOL You're expctations are still too high when it comes to this league sir. A decent plan for online streaming of games is a bear to put together, nearly impossible! But on the bright side, we'll be challenging MLS and we'll be an "International League" in just a few short years! Just ask the Mo-Ron Peterson!
http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/1t...da-to-kick-off-on-floating-pitch#.UztMlue9KK1 As per the NASL site Armada will start play in 2015 on a floating pitch. In the article the Club president Steve Livingstone, said: “We think this is a novel idea and really fits in with our brand and name. What better way to represent Jacksonville and live our Armada brand that playing our matches on the river and ocean! The Jaguars are going to have pools around the field at EverBank Field, so why not have the whole river or ocean around ours. We are also looking into adjacent floating practice fields to start a fleet of fields.” Livingstone added: “We’ve discussed the idea with the league and they’re on board now after some initial concerns about competitive balance on a rolling ocean or choppy river. They told us the Armada may have an unfair advantage. We’re no fools though, and will be providing our opposition with Dramamine tablets before the game in the interests of fair play, so they won’t get sea sick during the match as well as staffing game day lifeguards to ensure the safety of both teams.” I don't know but giving medication to players in order to play in such a pitch sounds wrong to me. First it sounds like a liability taking into consideration possible allergic reaction, interactions with other medications or supplements, and the fact that each person reacts differently to medications. I think it actually is foolish to think a medication will make it all good. Then from a soccer prepective it sounds like the home team will have a unfair advantage Dramamine or not, a moving pitch can cause all kinds of variations on the ball. But if the league approved it, it must be a good idea, thanks Mr Peterson

From Goal.com : Ten teams battle for USA's third oldest pro soccer prize ... 2-day countdown to NASL 2014 season kickoff http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/6105...ttle-for-usas-third-oldest-pro-soccer-prize-2 "The race for the third oldest professional soccer prize in the United States will start in Fort Lauderdale, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, San Antonio and New York. It ends in November when four teams that qualify for The Championship postseason competition meet in the semifinals and final for the chance to win the Soccer Bowl trophy."
Without looking, I guess they're 1) claiming the original D1 NASL as their heritage and 2) that the USOC and Men's NCAA titles are the two oldest. I wonder how much research went into that. I'm pretty sure there are a variety of amateur club or youth club titles that have been around a while. Or maybe I could find a 40 year-0ld defunct trophy and start a league with the same name and claim that trophy's history.
I'll pay 5 dollars and give a plastic cup to whoever wins my local amateur league and I'll call it the National Challenge Cup. Therefore, it is older than the US Open Cup, and is the oldest professional trophy in American soccer.
I think the wording in the statement says it all :USA's third oldest pro soccer prize. I'll defer to our Big Soccer subject matter experts on what the trophy's are but I would assume the leagues were United Soccer Association and the National Professional Soccer League. The USA Chamionship game was held on 14 JUL 1967 with the LA Wolves beating the Washington Whips. The NPSL had a two-day competition that started on 3 SEP 1967 and ended on 9 SEP 1967 with the Oakland Clippers beating the Baltimore Bays... Of course these leagues both merged to form NASL in 1968... Making it the third oldest.
Even if they didn't claim the old NASL, they could probably get away with third oldest still-awarded pro soccer prize in the United States. What other pro leagues are there that give out trophies? MLS, the USOC (if you count that, since it's technically an open tournament, not a pro tournament), and USL Pro, which started at the same time as the NASL. The only other candidates would be one of the regular preseason tournament. If they claimed the old NASL, the Soccer Bowl would probably be the second-oldest pro tournament title still awarded; I can't think of another one. Of the ones suggested, the NCAA is amateur, and the others are defunct. I have to say, though, I still think it's hilarious the lengths to which they are going to avoid using the word "playoffs" to describe "The Championship postseason competition." They've clearly been given instructions to avoid the dreaded p-word, lest some fans no longer consider them "proper."
