He was nurtured in Ulsan's youth system, bud. That's how he was selected by the KFA to go to Reading in the first place.

yeah, that's a training camp blog from Nicolas Isimat-Mirin. it can be looked at in 2 ways:

either he's driving them forward, by example. by pushing himself so hard, he pushes his teammates to work hard as well.

or

he's trying to set himself apart and potentially show some of the guys up.

in this case, it seems there's a lot of group bonding and camaraderie taking place so it's likely the former, with Isimat-Mirin giving props to NTH.

"So in the morning, I can say we got drenched (sweat)! 2 km around the lake 6 times, holding an average speed. Climbs, descents, more climbs, it was hell! I was in the second group with Tae-hee, Greg, José, Guillaume, Simon, Remi, Gaetan and Vincent! We managed to do it together, with a lot of mental support (for each other), except Tae-hee! He's nuts! On the last lap, when my legs were burning, he sped up! But I'm glad I did it (completed the circuit). It was the last big land training session and I had prepared well, the day before: eaten well and slept well."

they also celebrated Nam's birthday during their training camp @ Pornic.

I do read ok unlike my wife who is near fluent though I do resort to google translate when I'm lazy or busy at work especially around transfer talk whuch uses words outside my vocabulary. I cant speak outside of ordering food though In this case, it was clearly semi-facetious and printed by the team site who woulda edited something critical out.

very cool! did your wife study it in college? you and olijolly (sorry if i missed someone) are doing a great job putting up news from France.

and yes, good call. as it's from the team website, it's def a fluff piece. that's why i mentioned that if you read between the lines, you could get another angle out of it. in the end, all these kids are vying for jobs.

I studied in high school but my wife learned because her folks took her there alot growing up. One trick my wife did on our numerous visits to improve my french was to read magazines (mostly about music). But since I have terrible fear of public speaking I am no better at talking though and she does all the talking.

I enjoyed reading about PCY in Monaco forums so hopefully I can follow NTH similarly as he earns a regular spot in the starting 11

The nice thing about the offseason is that there are a lot more interesting pieces rather just practice and tactics. These va-fc blogs are a nice change from some of the more opaque clubs where they have one part-time peon writing their website.

Actually, its probably the reverse. It shows that he needs to earn his spot. He may be doing well behind the scenes but being brought on slowly like last year.

You're right. It's tough when there's a lack of information about VAFC. But keep in mind NTH is only 20. He's one of the youngest members of his team. You know it takes a while to develop versatility and rapport with your teammates; especially in the midfield. Hopefully we'll see him earn some starts during the L1 season. However, regarding the U-20 I completely agree. It's mainly for players looking to transfer. However, I think VAFC is a perfect place for NTH to develop his skills and try to earn first team minutes so participating in the U20's would be counterproductive.

VAFC was also battling relegation last season so that didn't help Nam's circumstances.

NTH is football.fr's "Player to follow"... the google translate will get you close to there, but mention how he has gained the confidence of his teammates, that he's a good dribber/fast, etc.

I guess all of the streamingsites (atdhenet.tv, stopstream.tv and soccertvlive.net) have listings for the match vs Dortmund @ 2ET... I presume most of us can show up late as NTH has not been starting at all this summer.
