We are already in a pinch regarding player selection because our pool gets freaking expensive when we go to the market. Mexican players playing for USA are still Mexican. At some point we are gonna have to make some compromises regarding the policy with foreigners. I for one wouldn't mind Gómez playing for us. He's a classy dude, and we need all the offensive power we can get, especially with how Marco Fabián is very likely to leave for Germany next semester. Do you realise we've had people born in the USA play for Chivas before? I think there are two in the current squad, and one of them got us an Olympic gold medal.
good point. He was born in Mexico, which is the main thing. So it would be an excuse type of thing, like getting zinha on the NT. Nery could go to Chivas but he wouldnt have the prestige of a chicharito who has history and youth with chivas, Nery's image would be merc like or the Chivas side, but the fall back would be, he was born in Mexico. Also another fallback is that he chose the Mexican NT. With those 2 facts, nery would be good to go at chivas, evn though he may receive criticism. now a pocho born in US, but grown up in Mexico, with allegiance to Mexico, I have no real issue with him going to Chivas, if they like, but I would not want him to go to the NADs. If Chivas cant prevent that, then dont allow Pochos on their team.

I can assure you Nery would have chosen to play for Uruguay had he ever had a real chance. Mexico, to him, was just the spoils. Sinha, on the other hand, waited a long time to accept a call-up from Lavolpe (I think it was him?), and he had already married a Mexican and had sired Mexican children before that. Not much I can say about that except that I disagree. I think National Team matters and club matters should be kept separate.

Chivas has been around longer than the national team. It made a statement when it was first founded, and it can make one now. If all you care about is what team lends more players to the Mex National Team, then perhaps you should root for Monterey.

El queria jugar con Mexico, pero nunca fue convocado, asi que cuando Los Estados Unidos lo llamo, decidio jugar con ellos. Como sabemos, el Chaton se prodria ir este invierno, Luis Perez no tiene para 5 temporadas mas, y se rumora que Xavi nos prodria dejar tambien, lo cual dejaria el medio campo medio ligero Hipoteticamente, si el Gringo Torres fuera una estrella en el medio campo, y el dijera que su sueno siempre a sido jugar en Chivas, que opinarias de eso?
