Watch closely in the pre-game. The little boy escorting out the Arsenal for the Chelsea game is my son. We're off tomorrow to London for a couple weeks and this is his early Christmas present. I'll be on the sidelines snapping pictures so if you see a slightly balding guy in probably a black leather jacket that's me. If you are at the game and have a good view of the start of the game, can you snap a photo and send it to me? I'd like to get pictures from all over the stadium of him coming out of the tunnel and onto the field. Later Andrew
That sounds like an awesome experience for you both. My son is only 18 months old, but I dream about an opportunity like this. Do you mind me asking how one goes about requesting their kid be an Arsenal Mascot? Thanks, Nick
Ought to convert this to the matchthread. The only thing is, for the OP, is that you have to continue to start them for as long as you are an omen of good luck.
it used to be a random draw of junior gunners. i presume it still is. http://www.arsenal.com/juniorgunners/mascots/be-a-mascot
I am beyond jealous. Our first is due in July, though I somehow doubt any premiership club would have asian kids be the mascot.
What a great opportunity. Now, gonna ask the sig other when we gonna start making rug rats. Merry Christmas!
Basically you just sign up for the Junior Gunners and pray. It's a pure lottery and they are very adamant about that, resisting all the pressure to make it a celebrity or politician's kid kind of thing.
I remember you asking about this at the start of season... wow how time flies. You all are going to have a gas! Not sure if you're aware of what happened last weekend but you may want to read this before Monday and give some thought to John Terry http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/sp...rpool-captain-Luis-Suarez-in-cheeky-snub.html FYI, this will be on the main NBCSN channel here, which sometimes cuts out for a commercial during this part of the pre-match. Hopefully they won't this time... I'll be looking.
I know that Paul Hardcastle (who is hugely for Chelsea) will be watching this match along with all of us, along with his wife Dolores, and fellow family musician geniuses Maxine and Paul Jr., and although I'm a fan of all of his music regardless of genre (electro/club/jazz/chill, etc.) both as himself and Jazzmasters, I will be at my Gooner best for this one, sorry Paul!
Well this just means my boy will one day be the first Asian Arsenal Mascot, and the heroic forerunner for all aspiring Asian mascots. Enzo, the destroyer of junior racial boundaries… But really, not seeing Asian mascots in the EPL has to be a product of simple demographics (at least I hope).
This is at least 3-4 years away, but I'm already really excited (being a new dad is weird). Thanks for the tip, Andrew.
OOPS! I thought we were playing Chelsea THIS week, my bad. But, at least when we do face them you know the Hardcastles will be watching (and I'll get their post-match reaction on his official facebook page come full-time).
Did he get a picture with Theo on the field during the warmup? Saw that on the pre-game show. Also saw him hesitate in shaking Terry's hand, got a chuckle out of me before I even read this thread.
Yea...saw that too. Kept telling everyone at the bar, the story of why I was so proud for the mascot and his Dad.
I wasn't able to catch the pregame live but on dvr I spotted him twice incl with theo. Very cute! Reminded me of yennaris being mascot with our previous #14. You must've been so happy proud.
