I wasnt planning on seeing him and I am not really a fan of his albums but he flows well and puts on a hell of a show. The fans actually knocked down the barrier and rushed forward during his set. It was a damn good time.
I posted that video with you in mind, I figured you would enjoy that. Check out Gary Clark Jr too. He is a hell of a guitar player. His songs generally start slow but he can shred the guitar when he wants too.
i've just discovered the jezabels. quite impressed. the female lead is a powerhouse. i've just been going from song to song of theirs on youtube and i haven't heard one yet that was worth skipping.
For any other Muse fans out there, they previewed 5 songs last night in Cologne on top of the three others that have been leaked. Here is the link. Really digging Panic Station because it songs like Orgin of Symmetry Muse. http://consequenceofsound.net/2012/09/watch-muse-perform-five-new-songs/
The Buzz announced three Christmas shows today which all have damn good line-ups. I want to hit all three but doubt that will be possible. Night 1 - Flogging Molly, Dirty Heads, ZZ Ward, and Not a Planet Night 2 - Grouplove, Of Mice and Men, The Joy Formidable, Elle King, She's a Keeper Night 3 - Passion Pit, Alt-J, Blondfire, Churchill, Heroes and Villians December 15, 16, and 17 at the Midland.
I actually think the other two nights are far better due to depth. I love Flogging Molly but I have seen them multiple times. I've also seen the Dirty Heads which are worth seeing. Grouplove, Of Mice and Men, The Joy Formidable, Passion Pit, Alt-J, Blondfire, and Churchill are all who I want to see. If I had to choose one, it would be the third night though. I missed Passion Pit at Bonnaroo and I am really interested to see what Alt J sounds like live. I love their sound. Blondfire should be good too. It's still a very good line-up for all three nights. I wish I could go to all three but not sure I could pull that off. I think I have my kids that weekend.
Some great shows coming around KC this spring including Animal Collective w/ Dan Deacon, Alt-J, Middle of the Map fest which has a solid line-up so far, Garbage, and Black Keys w/ Flaming Lips which is a solid opening act. Right now, Kanrocksas only has 5 confirmed acts: Kendrick Lamar, Avett Brothers, MGMT, fun., and Tiesto (really hope this isnt the best EDM act they grab). Kind of underwhelming so far but I have been wanting to see Avett Brothers and also MGMT so 2 out of 5 isnt bad but they really need to bring in some other acts to get my money. Bonnaroo is two weeks before and the rumored headliners are Paul McCartney, Bjork, Mumford and Sons, and Tom Petty along with a solid undercard. I'll probably never get another shot to see Macca or Bjork so if that holds, I will be headed to Manchester, TN again.
