Daft punk is currently my favorite music DJs.

A song I have been getting a lot of request lately is Pitbull and AfroJacks, Give Me Everything. I like how all these electro house DJs like Diplo and Guetta are filtering into mainstream artist. Although I liked being low pro and exclusive, I also understand the business end of it. Yall know I am fan of Ke$ha (horrible singer but funny, cheesy, quirky songs). I love Blow, which features Bennassi and Max Martin (a prolific song writer).

Max Martin is the ultimate troll, love the guy for what he's achieved (although I hate every song he's ever written)

Seriously that guy must piss himself when he hears all his songs on the radio and knows how much he's paid to write that sort of tripe and how pretty much everyone in the english speaking world knows the lyrics by heart to a plethora of his songs without even realising it.

It's just mind boggling. I was unfamiliar with his first album till recently, but it's great as well. But man, when I got the leak of the new album, it blew my mind.

It's so good I actually bought the disc off Amazon, it's waiting at my apt right now

Yeah it is so different from most of what I've heard before. Definitely a treasure now that I've discovered it. Did you see him perform on Colbert Show?

Just heard about it, I'm gonna Hulu it at home. Think they're doing the late night circuit right now.

Actually, I just found out that they are performing in Chicago Sunday night the weekend that I'm there for the United match. And since I pricelined my flight for Monday morning, I'm gonna go if I can get reasonable tickets.

I actually see your comment as a good thing. I dunno about you, but I would be honored and happy and accomplished that my songs are consistently being sold and being on top of charts.

Btw, Britney Spears' new song, I Wanna Go, is another Max Martin song, which the video will be released tomorrow.

    No.

ok, when I dye my blond, then yes

I just meant that if you compare the sort of music Max Martin writes professionally compared to the sort of music he tried to make when he was in bands it's hardly a continuation of his artistic integrity, and he must find it funny just how successful he's been in this completely different field of music. I think anyone would love to have written the songs he has, not because they're musically significant for their quality but because anyone would be happy to be that successful in their field

I doubt this, seeing as he brushed his success with writing/producing songs for The Backstreet Boys and Brittany Spears as "just understanding the magic formula of pop", sounds more like he just sees it as a production line type job and one that he's very good at. It's why he's been moving towards more rock based bands (like the type he performed in) like Carolina Liar.

I think part of his success comes down to his intelligence in his approach, in recent years especially in mainstream pop its become common for the producer to public brand themself and step into the spot light (think timberland) Martin keeps a low profile and thus is never dragged into controversy (like with If U Seek Amy ect.).

He's no Phil Spector though :)

    Love, love, love the Verve.

Hate, hate, hate that they were continually confused with the Verve Pipe. Ugh.

I waited until release day to listen to (in full) the new Bon Iver album. It is actually incredible. He's doing things that no one has really done before. The album is so full, yet pulls on the heartstrings still enough to let you know that it's still Justin Vernon behind this thing.

I'm extra glad that I got that ticket to see him in Toronto now that I've heard the album!

    For real man.

I gave in to the leak about 2 months ago, but I still bought a copy off Amazon that came yesterday. And if the ticket prices become reasonable, I'm seeing him in Chicago the day after the Man United game in July.

I love the Verve but man is Richard Ashcroft a dick :p he was performing at a Festival I went to last year (I didn't see him since he was clashing with The Pixies) but he had a tantrum and THREW DOWN HIS TAMBOURINE and walked off stage after like 2 songs because he didn't think enough people came to see him.

I believe his own personal background is rock music. He may or may not like the pop music he has written over the years. What I can say is that he has to at the very least pretend that he likes writing pop music. Top singers pay a lot of money to have him write their songs, and if he does not like or believe in his own music, then his credibility goes out the window. It is like a Honda car dealer salesman/woman, where if you asked him or her if they like Honda cars, and they say hell no I would not drive that junk.
